I wanted to pick up a mini-con package but for some reason it will not let me purchase unless I get three of them? I can't justify buying $175 just for a badge and a little comic and early admittance. Sure the seating is nice but there really isn't anyone I'm beating a down a door to see. Hope its cool first time going.

Mainly going to get some vacay with the wife in San Diego. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

That makes sense. Though missing the panel to get autographs is still a bummer.

Thanks for the update (which you guys may want to update The Transformers Collectors' Convention - BotCon 2013! since it still says Saturday only)

As we all age, Bingo would seem to be an appropriate game . . . eventually. Imagine the geriatric Botcon where all the 80's fans and later are in their 50's and 60's, and sitting around playing TF Bingo. *shudder* I think I just saw my own future . . .

Hmm, just saw a tweet saying that TFSource, Stylinonline, and BBTS will be at Botcon. Awesome! I thought BBTS had not been to the last few Botcons. Look forward to seeing them there.

This is my first botcon. I assume you pick up your figures set for the primus package whenever they open the doors on Friday?

I am slightly confused about the Club store openings.

It says "store opens" at 6:00 pm on Thursday, the same time registration pickup is. Fine.
But then it says "Club store opens for registered guests" at 9:30 am the next day.

Just to be certain, this IS the same club store with the same merchandise it will be selling the day before correct?

Yes. They are just stating when the Club store will open on Friday. If you are picking up your package during registration and you can get over to it before they shut it down, then you can buy stuff there Thursday night.

Organizers didn't seem to learn from last year or previous years. Having General Admission entry starting at 10am, and the first panel also starting at 10, it just stupid. So GA can't attend the first panel. Thanks, Botcon.

Bingo always starts at a different time than the Casino Night. It wouldn't be called "Casino" Night if it was just Bingo :)

As far as panels go, this is always how we have done it. It has never been an issue.

Why not? Will there by that many ealy bird/pre-registrant attenders? I plan on being there only on Saturday, and I would hate to miss the TF: Prime Voice panel that starts at 10am. If thats the case I will be highly disappointed

Just out of curiosity. Did people get the piece of mail that tells them what their pick-up time is. I haven't yet and wanted to make sure of when I can go pick up my package. Did they get rid of that this year?

I hope the golden ticket line is actually gone through within an hour this time so the rest of us Wednesday pick up folks can get through quick. It's a huge perk of doing tours/classes, not having to wait in the Thursday line for pick up.

Every year is different, but past experience says, "yes." It's not really the early birds and pre-registrants that will keep you from the panel, though. It's the other walk-ins. The lines will be absurdly long.

ok, then why dont they let people get there GA tickets ahead of time. If everyone has their ticket in hand, opening the doors @ 10am, everyone should be able to file in quickly. I've been to other conventions where they move 5000 people in less than 30 minuets, I can't imagine Botcon being even close to that attendance.

While I don't think numbers are in the 5000-range (but we're never told, so that's pure speculation)... let's just say that Fun Publications has a long and known tradition of not moving people quickly.

Tickets are sold at a location separate from the main entrance, as a rule, but I can't speak to whether or not they do so early. Probably, but that doesn't actually solve the "doors open at 10. Forum starts at 10" concern.
