I meant by it that Optimus and crew were still not at their best, even with they're expeirience. And, in Mission Accomplished, Starscream easily defeated Ultra Magnus, who is the leader of the Autobots, and who fought in the great war. That's the reason why Project Omega happened, to combat the Decepticons.

Yet he still got Ratchet to open up. And Prowl never interacts well with any leader figure, as shown in his flashback to the Great War, since he doesn't want to join it, and he still didn't listen that well, until the very end, except to TFA Optimus, who by being sociable with his troops, felt that he was a respectful figure. And Ratchet would probably not like P Optimus, given what horrors his commanders did during the Great War. Especially with Arcee. And then Bulkhead would just find him too hard to comprehend.

You are right, I did forget about that mainly because its been too long since I've gotten to see season 3.   But IIRC, Animated Omega wasn't exactly that difficult to manipulate, hence why Arcee was going to be, and Ratchet was, assigned to be his battle buddy? I doubt his trick would have worked on a sharper mind.

That they were not at their best matters little, they still defeated the Cons in the series finale, a marked accomplishment for a crew of repairmen. But their earlier difficulty was due to the lack of fighting experience they had, particularly going up against someone like Starscream. Against an organized foe of equal combat experience, the Decepticons featured in Animated would have fallen, however, and thats what I believe Team Prime would bring to the table.. And I do believe Starscream's victory over Ultra Magnus was do in great part to getting a cheapshot off on a distracted Ultra Magnus. Granted any victory can count in a war, but such a one as this is hardly representative of the combatants' battle prowess. In a straight up fight, I dare say UM would have grounded Starscream (at least until that all-spark fragment revived him).

Ratchet opened up because he and Animated Optimus bonded over the shared experience with Lockdown. Had Green-boy not come to earth, it is in all likelihood Animated Optimus could be as sociable as the proverbial butterfly and Ratchet would have still told him to bug off. And keep in mind, the anger Ratchet had was directed at very specific targets, ie those involved in the Omega Supreme plan (just one horror)that he believed to be morally reprehensible. I don't believe the grudge extended to TFA OP,who was innocent of anything to do with that, but merely a greenhorn Ratchet was forced to work under. Thus it seems unlikely he'd have a knee-jerk reaction of disliking P-OP just because he's the supreme commander of the Autobots, particularly since TFP Optimus doesn't have any such shady dealings to his name. I think he might appreciate a more stoic commander who refuses to comprimise his morales for a win, no matter how detatched said commander is. He might even understand why TFP Optimus isn't the ball of energy and good humor TFA Optimus got to be.

What about adding the new Planes movie into that equation?

Well, the brain usually tends to screw up somehow, while pinky actually has the answer to his equation every time.

 

But that would make the Screamer in a good light, instead of the comedy sidekick they are making of him

And imagine Ratchet every time the animaniacs wreck the Autobot base.

 

Halo and Transformers. Seekers as Banshees, Metroplex as a Mammoth, Megatron as a modified Needle Rifle that fires Dark Energon shards, and of course, Optimus as one of those semi-trucks that are just lying around.
