To each their own on preference but where does everyone pull these comparison $$ numbers from. With MMCs early bird prices these two are almost the same cost. You are underestimating UTs price and overestimating MMC's.

this is pretty much true, although we dont know the price of future bots from MMC. but if you missed the EB price, its maybe 20-25% more.

In the early days of the Predaking fight that was a good argument, but you're forgetting that the early bird pricing for two of the five figs is already over so even if newcomers got the early bird pricing on the rest the MMC 'King is still gonna be a sizable chunk more expensive than the UT 'King.

No shit. The limbs alone (before shipping) for UT's are $330... so I don't know where this guy thinks he'll only be spending $300. Looks more like about $430 or so.... which, coincidentally, is about the exact same as MMC's offerings at the early-bird price.

I paid less for MMC's divebomb than UT's was offered... and the 2 leg bots are only $5 more compared to UT. The difference in size and quality is insane in comparison.

Granted, it's possible MMC won't offer an early-bird on the rest...

Cyclonus is the rumored 6th Beasticon member. Every new combiner needs a secret 5th member these days!

I really wish they could've released it in Predaking 2010 colors instead. I still really like it but 2010 colors would've had me Pre-Order this right now.

Once they sell the G1 colored one, why not make the metallic as a box set? Best to work all the kinks out of the mold now.

Just got a small update from Unique Toys. I asked about the guns with War Hawk, and he replied:

So this seems to confirm the guns for all the figures are shipping with the last figure.

No not really at all. Let's use BBTS; Full price MMC Talon= $95, Bovis= $105. Lets say you get in on the early bird price for the next 2 limbs, add another $80 +90 and you get $370 for limb bots or $340 if you got early bird on all 4. With UT you have $330 for the limbs. This is basing it on a US customer before shipping. The combine mode does look good, I just dont think its worth what they are asking, something more like $50 per bot would be more reasonable.

Those War Bison pictures look so cute in comparison to Feral Rex's Bovis.

The big animal heads on small bodies make them look babyish.

    (same with War Rhino)

I'm not counting early bird pricing since that means putting your name down for something that may end up a lemon. Unlikely, given MMC's previous efforts. But you're looking at $100+ per MMC member, whereas the War Lord equivalents can be had for around the $65 mark (from sites that don't stock MMC, like RK and Chimungmung). TFsource and BBTS are heavily over charging for the Warlord bots.

I'm definitely looking at it from the perspective of someone who wants to wait until both sets are completed and released, when they can make an educated decision based on reviews/in hand reports etc.

Now that I can read the box, it seems they completely removed the name "War Rhino" in favor of Ironhead. Weird.

Then you're looking at it from the perspective of someone who's going to pay more than they have to. Just because you're too paranoid to pre-order something doesn't mean you throw out early bird pricing for the comparison; it's your choice not to take advantage of it, but it still exists. As it stand now, in reality, MMCs bots will end up costing around the same.

Kinda strange they're switching to ball-jointed limbs... Warhawk now looks like a toy from a different series. I kinda liked the blocky look.
