Ahh.. finally some MP news! I can't say I'm too surprised, initially when Prowl and Smokescreen were announced for 17&18 I was a bit baffled as Prowl and Bluestreak looked more alike to each other than smokescreen did to either of them.

It made more sense to release Smokescreen after the two, reassign him to MP-19, as he was substantially different. I never thought a simple repaint and minor retooling would be enough, it would have been a travesty, after all this is the MP line and not the classics.

Anyway...there goes being on the fence about this guy(who was I kidding?)...pre-order placed!

So basically these MPs better be cheaper then before. Like in the $40 range. More product should equal a lesser cost.

Also, none of these places better be selling out and then finding "stock from other distributors" and charging 3x the initial value for them.

    Just saying.

I mean, in the most basic of economics the more product made, the more the price should go down. Unless shady shit happens.

This isn't true. More product made should result in lower costs. Retail value could be lowered as a result, but the high demand and people's willingness to pay high prices will likely result in retail prices remaining where they are now. This means more profit for Takara, and likely similar pricing for us.

i disagree with those who say mp-05 is outdated. I think it is just fine. perfect spot in my collection. I don't need another megatron.

    sunstreaker is the #1 need.

there is a long list of Decepticons id put before another Megatron.

    Astrotrain, Blitzwing, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge...

The market is growing as more and more people are collecting these.
I don't think things will change that much, even with increased production.

There is already a MP Jetfire.
    It's the Yamato 1/60 Vf-1j.

I'm ok with or without a new MP Megatron for now. MP Rodimus needs MP Galvatron. MP Grimlock needs MP Devastator. Encore Fortress Maximus needs Encore Scorponok. Make it happen TakaTomy.

Fair enough for the people who are fine with using any random figure as placeholders to fill character slots no matter how sporadic it looks as a display, but for those wanting an actual Masterpiece collection with some accuracy & semblance to it, a grossly oversized Megatron, some random 3rd party figs meant for Classics-verse and a bunch of iGear KO's of an old outdated Seeker mold design won't/doesn't cut it. The quicker Takara hammer out a new Megs, Skywarp & Thundercracker, the better... so we can ALL finally move on with nothing but new designs and characters. :)

I disagree with NOT needing a new Megatron. However I love your display, it looks awesome. Ive always felt the 3rd party Incesticons look great with them, and although I love the new seeker mold, I think an early release or Igear version works better to avoid a clone army, it gives them all a personality to mix up the molds. Awesome shelf man!

And actually the closest colour scheme to G1 Jetfire's toy is VF1S Hikaru theme. The 1J has an almost Shockwave-ish head.

I agree. I'm tired of cleaning his "cosmic rust" yearly, as the Southern humidity is hard to avoid, and whenever I handle him, he basically falls apart.

I agree with darth here...he looks awesome in your display...it hides the skinny legs.

If you're happy with MP-05 that's fine. Don't buy another. The 90 percent of us who aren't--who think he's way out of scale and/or don't think he fits aesthetically--would like another Megatron to fit the rebooted line.

That's not to say your display isn't awesome. It is.

How does that figure scale with the MP line?

The most logical choice for the next MP has to be Shockwave.
