Ah that bites. Though, I don't see how a schedule could interfere with, at most, a couple days of work. The dude was in the other movies for maybe 10 minutes each.

Maybe he was just being polite putting it down to scheduling conflicts. :p

But seriously, he could be working a job the other side of the world during production and not able to get to the TF4 sets. Then again, these days they can film someone anywhere and insert them into a scene without the audience realising it wasn't all shot at the same time. We'll probably never know the exact details.

Maybe he's playing Ensign Burke's great grandfather for JJ's Star Trek 3?

Tarantino had an actor play two different characters in the SAME MOVIE, and didn't try to hide it.

    Who cares.

    That's a disappointment. I liked Morshower.

Eh, dang. I would've liked for him to have been in it, even if only to have that much more connection between films, but overall, not a huge loss. Too bad they couldn't work it out so that they can steal him (from whatever is the scheduling conflict) for a few days of filming random scenes in a military base.

It's sort of understandable that some people may not remember him. Appeared in the first 10 minutes of the first film, and was a supporting role in both RotF and DotM. Basically the equivalent of Coulson in Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Thor, in terms of quantity. Plus, for a lot of people, he's merely "random military guy #3", just like how Nolan's Batman movies are filled with a slough of random gangsters with pasta-sounding names, or eight dozen random elves and dwarves in LOTR/The Hobbit. They're just not that memorable of characters.

Yeah, really. Because so many people noticed and cared about it. :lol

It happens more often than you think. Bruce Spence was the Gyro Captain and Jedediah the Pilot in two different Mad Max movies. Or how about the creative team behind the Dirty Harry flicks? Albert Popwell played a different character in four of of five Dirty Harry movies! A thief in Dirty Harry, the pimp in Magnum Force, Mustafa in The Enforcer and Horace King in Sudden Impact, with the latter two of the roles being quite prominent. Heck, look at any and all crime-fighting series. The CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, etc.. There are several actors who play different characters within the same universes (not that all of those are in the same universes, mind you. The CSIs are, and it's happened before).

Bay likes working with Morshower, and Morshower makes a great military character. So Bay cast him again. Probably saved some time and money from having to recast a role that was pretty much tailor made for Glenn.

    Whoooa, easy, killer.

    a) I didn't compare the two
    b) What i'm referring to(Django), wasn't done with irony or flair
    c) How did I act like that? You made a stupid, mundane point in my opinion and I commented on it.

Apart from die-hard Bayformers fans who obssess over the HUMAN characters (and these people do not exist), who did even remotely remember who this guy was?

Next they will be telling us the guy who ran away from the transforming X-Box in the first movie won't be returning. *SHOCK! GASP!*

Bay enjoyed working with Morshower, so Bay asked him to come back for ROTF and later DOTM as a new character. Named after him. It was just a gesture of friendship between director and actor, and a pretty cool one at that if your director asks you to come back and names your character after you.

The more you know, the better before you start complaining about something you clearly didn't even know the whole story about.

That rumor that said we would have Grimlock, Lockdown and a bunch of others also said he would return.
    Hmm...

I remember him, and I remember hearing "General Morshower" so much that it's awkward to acknowledge him as an actor and not the character he plays.

No, it isn't. They do it all the time.
And when I say "they," I mean movies in general.
    Not Bay.

We can't even have a man tell the press about his involvement in a movie without somebody running to get the snarky hit first.

With that said, I'm sure we can find another bald rugged actor dude to play a bad rugged dude.

They technically don't even need that character. He was great and I don't like it that he's not returning, but he didn't get much screen time and didn't really do much.

Its still pretty lazy and uninspired, don't really care if you know the reason behind it. Bay cant tell a story as it is, so to hand out characters from a movie like coupons, when he clearly doesn't have the imagination or capacity to make it work, makes it even worse.
as for everyone else noting other movies that have done it, Its still lazy and uninspired even if you are comparing better movies to a transformer movie. I'm pretty sure some of the nazi soldiers that got shot in Schindlers list were used again for other fight scenes. But it be crazy to compare the two directors, one can tell a story and one can't. So which one should be working on learning how to create a cohesive story, and which one is skilled enough to get a bit sloppy?

I really like that actor, he's to a colonel what R. Lee Ermey is to a drill sergeant. In fact, I'd like to see both in the same movie.
