I find it kinda sexiest that the TF community seems to openly support it's brother series G.I Joe with it's many crossovers, and shun it's kid sister series of My Little Pony. I wonder if there would be such a reaction to a crossover with the older sister series Jem and the Holograms? Also A it's just a cover and B shouldn't fan's of all series focus on the real enemy, Mike Bay?

 

I'd say it's closer to 1 in 3 being Pepe. I've met more good people than attention-whore twits.

I have never seen MLP nor am I interested in checking it out despite how many internet acquaintances recommend it. However this is a cute cover. I see nothing wrong with silly little cross-brand fun like this. I have an infant niece that I am plotting to make a Transformers nerd. With the usual stuff that my sisters will expose her too, this type of thing can be a good in if necessary.  

 

It's a great way to introduce little girls to Transformers. Would definitely work on my kids. I've just watched an episode of MLP with them as recommended and it's not so bad. Kind of like...dungeons and dragons for girls?
I probably wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again but can understand how it has a lot of fans. Look past the girly stuff and you've got a fun fantasy setting.

Oh damn I can only imagine how somewhere there is a Transformers fan twitching on the floor with foam coming out of their mouth in rage because it combines the rage they have at My Little Pony and the rage at Transformers Animated.

 

Storywise, any crossover featuring Twilight Sparkle would want to play upon the similarities between her and Optimus Prime/Orion Pax as a sort of surrogate father/daughter relationship.

I don't see any potential in that storywise unfortunately. 'Jiz and The Mammograms' is a different story, however. I can totally see Arcee and the other G1 femmebots mixing it up on The Harriet Upfucker Show..

 

I actually watched and enjoyed Jem and the Holograms as a kid. I have no shame in that. That show was VERY 80s. If a remake/reboot is ever accomplished I would give it a try just for nostalgia purposes. As for MLP, it is not the girly association that prevents my interest. I have heard very good things about the writing and characterization and I am not above enjoying very girly fantasy. Personally I am in favor of expanding the appeal of the Transformers with little things like this. I have little interest in Rescue Bots but think the concept was about damn time. There are children in my life turning 3 very soon. Rescue Bots is a fairly obvious and very marketable take on the Transformers franchise. More variations that appeal to others especially those with differing interests than myself are good for the brand.

No, because a Jem and the Holograms crossover would likely be the most amazing thing since sliced bread.

Anyway, the majority of the distaste towards MLP is not because of the show, or the toys or the comics or whatever, but because of the loud, obnoxious and sometimes insanely creepy portion of the fandom that you can't avoid anywhere on the internet.

Now, I personally dislike the idea of Bronies, but this certain thing doesn't really come across as a big deal, as I said before. I can understand if it were a Transformers comic with My Little Pony on the cover, but it isn't, it's the opposite. If anything, My Little Pony fans are justified to be bothered by it.
