Ok folks, you all are forgetting something. for an item to be declaired stolen it has to have some sort of unique identifying marking (ware and scratches do not make this, nor do the copyright stamp). Toys like this don't have said markings, so unfortunantly there is no way to prove that it was the prev owners.

Unless you have photo evidence that clearly matches said item. Even then it still can sometimes not be enough.

Wheeljaxx, I am afraid you don't have a leg to stand on in this case. To me from the first time you posted on this thread sounded like you were an oprutunest. Heck you even stated you lost the high res photos that you had.

Rattrap, as others had said, continue with the cops, let them know of your current situation, but don't start dealing with Wheeljaxx, unless the cops direct you to.

That is all.

Using the condition of the box also, will not prove past ownership of the toy inside. For all the authorities know, Fred could have taken Wheeljaxx's toy out, and put a different one in it's place.

 

Seconded. Not to be an ass toward wheeljaxx, but because there isn't a leg for him to stand on at all.

 

An advice for both Wheeljaxx and Rattrap before you go to the police - create a timeline either by paper or by typing it out. The timeline is a brief history of events that took place. For example, the date you first met Fred, how you met Fred, when the money was set out. Also remember to include evidence such as e-mails, phone messages, call register etc.

I was involved in some fraud case in my country and a timeline is very useful for the cops to get a picture of what happened.

 

Good idea this, and this thread if you cut out the name calling/laughing/etc... make for a good way to handle fraud cases.

 

I'm just waiting till we get to see the pics of Rattrap's Prime vs. Wheeljaxx's Prime. IMO, Wheeljaxx is on the level about the whole thing, and I don't think he deserves the criticism, unless it turns out to be deserved.

Wheeljaxx posted several pages ago that Fred indicated his desire to put Wheeljaxx's Prime into a different box, since he claimed to have a box in better condition.

lol this thread makes my head hurt for sure... wheeljaxx somewhere along the line you said a bunch of words people didnt like, and now intentional or not your reaping the whirlwind of your own comments.... I dont think hes opportunistic, i think hes energized by the aspect of a long dead issue finally coming to some sort of resolution.
Conversely however, i agree with others that approaching rattrap with a deal no matter how benign is just bad karma.... Until the Prime is proven to be yours no deal no matter how superficial should be struck, just on the off chance you may actually be wrong wheeljaxx, or that as others have said Fred has switched up Primes but used your box.
That being said as a matter of personal honor, rattrap may want to post pics of the prime in question for comparison purposes... obviously if the wear on the side of the trailer matches PERFECTLY to the wear on the pictures...then its obvious that its actually wheeljaxx prime and any negotiations could continue on from there. There is likely nothing that could be done by wheeljaxx to rattrap to regain the prime, not only is he from another country, but the time frame involved and nature of the evidence will almost certainly side with rattrap.
Finally the Prime whether it is or isnt wheeljaxx, should remain in rattraps posession till this Fred character is properly handled.

i think even if they looked exact in pics as i said earlier theres no way to prove it belongs to wheeljaxx

 

there could be some very distinguishing marks/damage/wear patterns....we still need to see those damn pics!

He was trying to help the situation...Bull shit on being opportunistic. He (Wheeljaxx) was one of the first posts on this thread offereing to help, before Pepsi Prime was even involved.
The guys who are on Wheeljaxx case are probley the same who thought that Ratrap was lying abou the whole thing.
