I'd be interested to see the results of this poll from an Asian board like actoys....
I don't speak Asian though. [sic].

Doesn't really matter. These numbers have got to be incredibly discouraging to UT aka CHMS. While those numbers are fubared, if they have about 10 out 200 votes, they've got about 5% of the PK market, and that's being pretty liberal in their favor with the math....

I'm down for MMC's! I like the designs so far for the revealed figures, although I think the shoulders of Headstrong and Tantrum seem too blocky at times for me, but I love the details! Also MMC's customer service with Cyclops won me last time!

I'd be down for TFC too, once more pics come forth! Totally down with Cybertronian modes, if that rumor's true!

MMC's holds the most promise. UT has already shown its hand with War Hawk and although a decent beginning, his QC left much to be desired. MMC has a proven track record (at least more recently) with QC AND product both being great, so I am the most optimistically looking forward to Bovis, et. al. TFC is the wildcard, and although I've mightily enjoyed their figures in the past, them doing yet another Predaking seems like... why?

Two officially announced (UT and MMC) and one unofficially apparently (TFC Toys). If there are any others, I haven't heard about them yet. Mad Beast appears to be a K.O. of G1 Predaking with some new stuff.

I currently have the first two MMC Predacons on pre-order, so I'm going with that one. However, my purchasing the MMC version of Predaking is contingent on the quality of MMC's Hexatron. If I get Hexatron and it sucks, I'll be dropping my preorders for the MMC Predacons and waiting for TFC's version.

I think it's going to be pretty hard for Hexatron to suck--it looked pretty bad @$$ in TJ's review.

    preordered MMC's figs thus far

i have actually never owned any of MMC's figs unless you count mech ideas wrecking crew which are fantastic. I have always heard good things about them and i think the asthetic they have shown really works well on a predaking variant.

not sure about TFC's as we havent seen anything yet. UT's was out on size alone. i like BIG combiners

No sarcasm here, hexatron looks terrible to me and I find Phantom Ray to be an excellent toy. Perhaps if I had trolled the Hexatron thread with dozens of negative and mean-spirited posts my comment would not have been so confusing. ;)

I realize that probably no one is going to read this since it doesn't have any images, sarcastic quotes or stupid, thoughtless snarky comments, but I'll try to explain my point anyway...

It is a great plan. Here's why:

Yes, Hexatron looks awesome, that's the reason I've got him preordered...but those pictures tell absolutely nothing about the figure's quality control, engineering, plastic, fragility or any of a number of potential issues that won't be revealed until the item is in hand. I've never purchased anything from MMC before, so they're an unknown quantity for me and I have no idea what the quality of their products is like; reviews generally seem good, but I've heard some concerns as well. If I get Hexatron in-hand and it turns out to be as great as it looks, I'm all in with MMC on Feral Rex. However, if I get Hexatron and it turns out to have problems with engineering, QC, plastic or whatever, then there's no way I'm going in with MMC for an ~$500 - $600 combiner.

As far as the last picture, Phantomray is the only part of the Uranos set I don't like...and I'm not nearly as butthurt about him as some people. In fact, I'm generally very happy with the Uranos set, as well as with TFC's designs and previous releases. With TFC, I already have a general idea of the kind of product I'll be getting, so they'd be my default for Predaking if I get Hexatron and find I don't like MMC's products.

Erika actually makes a good point (or at least the one I believe he was trying to anyway). Doesn't really matter how much of a build quality and feature set difference their is between any given two tfs. Liking and disliking them is always subjective to ones tastes and interests and if you feel strongly enough one way or another all the points someone could make about a figure ultimately don't mean anything. While I thought my little joke was kinda funny, I intentionally ignored this fact to make it.

So while I think Hex is gonna be one of my top fav figs this year he does have a particular aesthetic that I could see some people reasonably objecting to. I initially didn't like how he looked much, (so many ridges!) and those knee panels poking out of his shins still kinda bug me but the color pics and TJ's review really sold me.

I don't think TFC's Ares will be better than MMC's Feralrex but I could see myself getting tfcs eventually as well if its unique enough. Its obvious from the silhouettes its not going to be g1 but more a classics-style reimagining / cybertron take on him so it could be really cool if they nail a nifty design for him.

I got Herc and there's enough QC issues there to give me pause. I haven't got anything from MMC before, but I've heard enough to make me feel confident about them. Gotta admit, their transparency helps.

I do understand about wanting to sample one of their products before committing, though.
