Lighter? Should be darker! WFC Thundercracker was colored similarly to his G1 toy.

Hoist is cool, but i wish the color scheme was bit more g1-ish. I think i May hold out to see the inevitable Japanese version on him. See if it might have more orange and a darker green.

It is amazing to me how many delusional people think this Hoist, the upcoming Traibreaker and Sandstorm, and the just released Blitzwing and Springer are g1 oriented transformers. They barely resemble anything from that era. The figures share the same color scheme I guess. Heck, even Blitzwing has his triple face thing from the animated series, so if anything it is a redux from that era. They are obviously designed like FOC/WFC figures. And the sad thing is that anyone who tries to use these as such will be highly disappointed when their Hoist & Trailbreakers are midgets next to the old deluxe class molds from the Universe/Classics lines. Just like some delusional people did with FOC Shockwave. These are not classics/universe figures. If anything they are video game/comic book figures.

I don't know why, but the FOC seeker design looks better in Thundercracker colors. It just makes the mold even more appealing than Starscream ever did. Also, that new Bumblebee could make for a bigger scale Windcharger.

Takara-Tomy is or will be releasing one (he's more purple than black). It's a Japanese exclusive though, as far as anyone knows.

I'll agree with the new deluxes being small compared to the old ones, but what exactly is wrong with these being based on/inspired by the High Moon videogames and the IDW comic books?

-size has always been an annoying thing, not just because Hasbro has been making toys smaller with every new toyline, but also because some characters' sizes are already inaccurate compared to each other within the same line in dozens of cases.

-people gladly use WfC/FoC toys for their Classics lineup because these characters, no matter what Hasbro wants to tell us, are clearly based on their G1 counterparts - and they're missing a lot of the bulk the characters have in the games. They're perfectly acceptable as pre-Earth modes for a lot of people.

-Classics/Generations/Universe =/= G1. It's modern updates. IDW's comic book designs are likewise modern updates. Trailbreaker obviously sports an eart-mode version of his MTMTE design, but please tell me how that suddenly doesn't qualify him for a Classics figure anymore. Voyager Optimus, just to name one example, also isn't a direct (but modern) copy of his G1 self, with more than enough changes in his robot and truck mode (and weapons, too).

Just because the designs came from a comic book doesn't mean they don't fit. The IDW books are already doing exactly what Hasbro was doing before they decided to use the comic book character designs. And this isn't even the first time Hasbro has looked at the comics for influences on their toys. Drift was an IDW figure, and his remold, Blurr, had his IDW head. Kup originally sported his IDW cygar, but that was removed from the final product.

-Animated Blitzwing's rotating faces was a pretty fun gimmick, and one worth bringing over into a new toy. His regular face/mode is still 'G1' Blitzwing. Don't like the faces, and don't like the bio? Don't use them. Besides, speaking of the bio, this is far from the first time a Transformers toy has a bio that doesn't fit with the character at all, and I don't see how one would use that to decide whether or not a character fits within a certain line or not.

-Finally, I think it's pretty funny how you make a big deal about these toys all not fitting in with Classics, but then continue to throw them all onto one pile and say they all look like WFC/FOC to you. That's equally, if not more, wrong.

I understand where you're coming from, I really do. It's just a shame you have to go and call people delusional just to make your point. That's a bit insulting. If you're going to act like that, I'm going to call you anally retentive, because that's what I'm seeing here. :-/

As you can see, he should be lighter to be accurate. He does sort of compare to some of G1 Thundercracker's art maybe, but definitely not the toy itself. (I also actually think G1 Thundercracker is lighter than this toy will be)...

Henkei Thundercracker's blue is what would match his game colors best, I think.

While that is a perfect mold for Triggerhappy, I'd much rather have an official one with a new head. Maybe a future Botcon or Subscription figure...

    Good eye though.

I mix Animated and Prime figures in with my Classics. The only ones I keep separate are the Movie figures.
