I....kind of liked Devastator... Wasn't crazy about the color scheme, but was 'ok' with the fact he was so large he could barely stand up which did make him a bit more feral, even though he was complete-looking mess. Never thought about the driller, though reading the book prior to seeing the movie, I invisioned it in a complete different....look, considering Shockwave was supposed to be in the cockpit driving it more like a vehicle.

Now I will admit, I really liked Jetfire and he was 'fairly' large, again yet ANOTHER "here I am, there I go" character in the movie-verse of characters... But I wish, if they make an over-large Transformer, like a space shuttle, or a huge train (where the multiple cars complete his 1 robot mode), or a city or something... we need to go back to the G1 idea, with the bigger they are, the 'dumber' they are syndrome. Even Metroplex talked a bit slow if I remember correctly.

Though what I'd LIKE to see, are team bots REALLY show up in the movie verse, and have the plot where they are scattered to keep them from forming for EITHER camp! And when they do they do look more humanoid with the combined strength to something as simple as standing up!   What would really be neat if they go back to Paradise Falls to rescue the bot they thought they lost in one of the prequel books who ends up being wild or part feral...something akin to Transmetal 2 Cheetor from Beast Wars. And if they bring in combiners, bring in the Protectobots and the Terrorcons.

 

Isn't everyone forgetting about Metroplex? He transforms into a city.

 

Maybe for the 4th movie, redesign Beast Machines Supreme-class Cheetor to make it more movie-ish. Add some spikes, new alt-mode and robot heads, add some gray, a new weapon, some ball joints, and an accessory. It wouldn't be too hard to render, just use RotF Ravage as a template.

 

Many of the movie Decepticons are all "creature"-y already.

It's not much of a stretch, we've gotten "BM Thrust-like" Demolishor, a 4-legged Devastator, and a catapillar-ish Driller thingy.

I doubt we'll ever get the driller thing from DotM. The hovercraft was only ok, obviously it was too small, if it was roughly Ark sized, it probably might have sold well.

 

I loved Devastator's design, however my memory is plagued by that infantile joke with the wrecking balls. I was hoping that the Wreckers were the Stunticons and we'd get Menasor back when we first saw them in filming, so I'd love more giant Transformers.

More commonly he transforms into a building or base. I can't think of any actual example where he was truly a city, despite what toy bios tell us. A base turning into a colossal transformer would be pretty epic to appear on the screen, though.

 

Yea the Driller had a lot of problems. It's not something fans were asking for so another Autobot or Decepticon that fans had been wanting would have been a better use of the movie's resources. The Driller wasn't even anything that Shockwave needed to look cool give Shockwave more to do and he would be cool on his own.

So basically the two functions of the Driller is the destruction of a building in a city that had already been smacked around and to die when the hero needs to look cool. As you say not exactly memorable moments. When the Driller does come up in conversations about movie it seems to be about it being a waste of resources instead of being cool or an important part of the movie.

 

The Driller had a very important role: Appear in the trailers as a colossal, mysterious monster ripping apart the city that a flying Optimus is having a desperate struggle with. Looked really exciting, I know I was excited for the scene after seeing it.
Too bad the trailer couldn't reveal the fact that Optimus easily killed it 10 seconds lately without it so much as scratching him.

 

Michael Bay wanted to knock down an office tower, and needed a reason for that to happen.

 

It's hard to go through the list of Autobots to see which new ones I would like to see in Transformers 4. Because I would most like to see characters from G1 or the first 1 to 3 seasons of the original tv show. But what I think I would want are Prowl, Hound and Smokescreen.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the other Seekers that were seen on Wheelie's map.

 

Surely a Decepticon with a big gun firing some serious pew-pew lasers or a depeleted phlebonium shell would have done the same thing and been cheaper?

Galvatron for the Decepticon side. I would ask for Blitzwing too, but I don't know.

 

All I want are some heavies. Even if Sideswipe returns alongside Prime, Bumblebee and Ratchet, I want heavies. To me, this mean Magnus, Trailcutter, Prowl and Hound.

 

Given that Mark Wahlberg will be a cop, I'm going to guess Prowl will make an appearance.

Reynor's character is a race car driver which opens up the possibilities of including Mirage, Smokescreen, or hell, even Wheeljack if they want to go the Lancia Stratos route. I'm hoping it ends up being an awesome take on Hot Rod.

Like C300 said, I wanna see some big bots like Hound and Ultra Magnus in TF4, which would makes for better toys. Hell, make the villains be Onslaught and the Combaticons or something

I've figured out that we get five Autobots a film.
In the first film it was Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet, Bumblebee and Jazz.
In the second it was Jolt, Sideswipe, Mudflap, Skids and Arcee
In the third it was Que, Topspin, Leadfoot, Roadbuster and Dino
Two and Three also had turncoats, who count for neither. I ranked the characters by size of alternate mode.

I want Magnus to have his Animated alternate form.

The second one, you forgot Chromia, Elita 1, Jetfire and Wheelie.

And the third one you forgot Brains.

 

So I did. I count Chromia and Elita 1 towards Arcee as they're never explicitly named as such.

Wheelie and Brains? Yeah, I did. Jetfire I didn't: he was the turncoat.

 

I was reading a brochure of the first G1 Transformers toys. And some of them were most of the Autobots from all 3 movies. The only ones that were missing from the movie are:

Prowl
Trailerbreaker
Hound
Bluestreak
Sunstreaker
Huffer

There were others but they were made into toys, so I'm not counting:

Windcharger
Brawn
Gears
Cliffjumper

So, hopefully they will make the following Autobots (And maybe Smokescreen) in the movie.

 

if they really want to bring Screamer and Soundwave back, they could go with the story of starscream having a indestructible Spark OR go with him being reformatted into Hellscream. And Soundwave could be reformatted into Soundblaster. But I'd like to just see new bad guys with Galvatron bing his own character and not a reformatted Meg's.

On that not... If Galvatron is in it, I'd like to see his younger brother Megastorm.
