I would have posted the video, but it contained gore. Look up "Where the Dead Go to Die" trailer on Youtube. Hell, the whole movie is disturbing as hell.
The Terror of Trigon arc as seen in Teen Titans season 4. You got all this satanic and hellish imagery in a kids show. I would also say the Teen Titans season 5 episodes Calling all Titans and Titans Together where the bad guys are taking down and then freezeing the Titans.
Awesome!!! We all knew one of these days, he'd get sick of being stolen from and mocked, and just snap...
I thik the darkest thing I saw was in this anime film NATSU E NO TOBIRA, a coming of age story about a gang of school friends. There's this guy named Claude, a quiet introverted kid, who completely breaks down and confesses to his friend Marion that he's in love with him: Natsu e no Tobira (The door into summer) - Dramatic scene - - YouTube The gist of what he's saying is: "I love you man, I can't control my feelings for you! But I'm utterly fucked! I can't live like this, it's awful, but I can't live without you either! I don't know what to do, it's a nightmare with no way out! Help me! Love me!" It's dark more in the fact that he's so desperate and repressed (being gay was a sign of not being a man in the film's setting), rather than any themes or anything. And also what happens next: Spoiler he tries to force himself on Marion, and then jumps in a river. Its darkness is of tragedy and despair, or maybe that doesn't really count? I don't know. But it is a sad, dark thing to watch.
Off he top of my head, the animated movie Anastasia... The villian, Rasputin. He's basically a zombie, reanimated by black magic for some shit... The parts that stands out are when his head sinkc into his chest and if floating in some type of liquid and surrounded by his ribs and when he dies at the end he's basically a skeleton having a seizure... But it was... Unsettling to watch.
The animated film of Animal Farm. I watched it as a very young child, and I was all: "That's so cool, the animals are running the farm, that's awesome!" Then the black pig unleashed his crazy dogs on them and they started killing them and wrote in blood on that barn and oh gosh I'm shivering.
Oh that made me cry when i was 7 when i saw TLBT in theaters. Great episode, one of my favorites and i was 17 at the time too. Heavy Metal: The zombie story anyone? i thought that was a freaky story in the movie, remembered when Loc-Nar budged itself on the plane and turned the dead pilots into zombies? i saw that movie back in december 93 on cinemax when i was 12 and thought it was creepy as hell. Wicked city: Yoshiaka Kawajari has a unique yet twisted imagination and i'm a fan of his works. This one has a woman creature with a spider torso with sharp teeth down there, a woman who had sex with a midget wiseman yet she melts to trap him and plenty of weird demons abound. Pinocchio and The Emperor of the Night part 5. - YouTube Pinocchio and The Emperor of the Night: Remember this 1987 Filmation made sequel to the classic Collodi story? i saw this in theaters when i was 6 years old after christmas day and this movie scared the bejesus out of me. This one stars Scott Grimes, James Earl Jones, Tom Bosely, Ed Asner, William Windom and Rickie Lee Jones! it has plenty of dark moments from the opening to this sequence in which the Emperor's minion Puppetino traps human Pinocchio to a carnival where he transforms slowly Pinocchio back into a puppet. Oh man this was a truly horrifying scene and i had a couple of nightmares about it and not only that scene but inside the Empire of the Night boat-world where the Emperor himself is a scary and dark demon voiced none other than James Earl Jones. Urotsukidoji Legend of the Overfiend: The whole movie itself man, you have to see this movie to believe it as i believe it was the one that started the trend of demon tentacle stuff since 1987. Rape, mutilations, orgies, gore, transformations of man to demon and all that.
Even the unedited version was toned down. From the original notes, it was supposed to be....uh....more. Plus that completely deleted scene (future Arkham) that was only storyboarded with dialog...wow....what could have been.
Dude the Overfiend movie, I wish I never saw it. A buddy show this to our group of friends back in the day. Wow just wow, this movie is really messed up.
You know as a kid, one of my most favourtite folklores scared the heck out of me.... THAT LAUGH!!! The headless horseman - YouTube
omg, every halloween we watched that. (we had it on reels and played on a projector. OLD SKOOL, LOL.) loved Disney's tall tales and legends shorts. GI Joe Renegades and Transformers Prime had me thinking that every new HUB show had to kill off a character to start the ball rolling. I mean, kill off Cliffjumper? to start a series? i was wondering who was gonna die in MLP and Rescue Bots or Aquabats.... for a family network, that seemed dark to me.
