got this guy last night... not impressed. his front... pipe-things like to slide down in vehicle mode, the transformation is too fiddly and the treads don't touch the ground because when i bend the knees to tuck them under they randomly pop back out. also the back end of his vehicle mode is gappy and messy, there's no way to get the plate with the decepticon logo to sit flush and the claws in the back don't stay pushed together.

The plate with the Decepticon Logo (in the back) is impossible to place down all the way due to a last minute redesign of that section (the addition of a screw or something iirc). But all the other issues you mentioned should be avoidable with some careful transforming and a little massaging.

These Constructicons remind me of how unnecessarily convoluted the RotF line got. It's not even that the designs are too complicated, the Legends managed to get an incredibly simple but very effective transformation out of them, which makes the full-size figures fell like they were made overly complicated just for the sake of it.

Still like them, though. Not so much transforming them, but all lined up in either bot or vehicle mode they're pretty nice looking.

okay, looked up a video, realized what i was doing wrong - those little plates on his legs weren't flipped up. his vehicle mode sits together real good now.

i have to agree with noideaforaname though, this guy and mixmaster really are pretty complicated and massagy, and i see where the complaints about the rotf toyline come from. i mean, they look pretty, but so do long haul and bludgeon, and i don't want to have to spend 20 minutes transforming them, lol.

    Sniff. I like Rampage. :C

I just keep him in pogo mode, remove his backpack, and position him On my shelf.

I use his dozer blade backpack as a chair:

Mix has his own "kibble-chair", too.

While not one of my favorites, I do appreciate and enjoy Rampage, and all the RotF Constructicons, for their unique robot modes.

Agreed - I really dig the complex transformations.
The on-screen models are impossible to replicate in plastic & the ROTF figures did a great job of trying - which created some very complex figures.

Granted the Legion figure does this more smoothly - but the Deluxe figure is more involved, more poseable & to me, much more interesting.

okay, after a few days with this guy to figure everything out and get the transformation down... he's fantastic. i underestimated him at first. turns out the cab does indeed fold in more in robot mode and the engineering on the shovel is really great.
