That's why I'm still interested in buying one. On Chromedome it's just the eyes that slide out of position when it turns into tiny robot mode, right? So if Brainstorm works the same way, putting a mouthplate on there shouldn't be that hard.

It might even be close enough to just put a sticker on there, if Reprolabels wanted to do a set.

Still waiting to receive mine, so I don't know if I'll have the same issue BUT... there is a guy in the CODE review thread who said it depends on how you fiddle with the hip joints. IIRC you have to put them inwards as much as you can and you should be able to close the cockpit without problems.

If you do, please make another one of those awesome tutorials you put on your blog. They're just great!

I wonder what it would take to actually make a good, solid faceplate.

 

Well, if FansProject lives up to their name, they will realize that half of their fandom market knows the faceplate version of this figure

so they ought to release the 2 versions to sell to 2 different markets.

but, if they want to make their customers upset, they should release the mouth version first, let some of the Western market buy it, and then release the faceplate version that fans in the West actually wanted. Just like George Lucas and his endless double-dipping.

 

Perhaps they'll just release a masked head later on for those that want one?

As for Uncle George, his double-dipping ended when he sold Star Wars to Disney. You can rage at The Mouse from now on.

I'd actually rather have the Japanese season Headmasters mouth version. ( I realize his appearance in U.S. season four had the faceplate.)

The same reason I'm not interested in the Toyworld Hardhead. They didn't do a proper cartoon head design. (well, and the whole takes too many liberties)

Also, the same reason I LIKE Code, the anime accurate face sculpt.

Will they be fully painted as well? I'm in for g1 rebirth heads but I don't paint so they need to be fully completed pieces.

Do we know when this and quadruple u are getting released. I thought it was supposed to be end of last month :/

 

The plan is that the parts will be molded in color, with some line work.

 

They were delayed so Maketoys can manufacture Chaos Paladin and their Marine/Jungle sets and FP can release Downforce and Lastchance sooner.

If either of those things hadn't happened we'd probably have Weirdwolf at least by now, its looking like we'll be lucky to see him by late june now. If FP is prioritizing the stunticons and only releasing 1 figure per month fx figs will probably hit in august.
