Forgive me if this has already been brought up in the mess of which one is "better", but note what I've bolded.

It does not say a "more true white", but a white more true to the G1 coloring. Which actually wasn't very white, but an off-white/very light grey. So for those wanted a "whiter" Metroplex, looks like US is the way to go!

That's more than Fortress Maximus! Fortress Maximus sports an MSRP of 31,290 yen, but is on sale for 18,133 yen!

Metroplex has an MSRP of 19,950 yen, but is on sale for 16,699 yen. Shipping won't be cheap for these big and heavy guys, that's for sure.

If BBTS' listed weight for Fortess Maximus is correct, 7Kg (is he really that heavy? that's as heavy as a PS3 FAT) from Japan to the US is pricey; 10,700 yen for EMS to be exact. SAL and Surface mail services cost 9,400 and 5,100 yen respectively.

Lord knows how heavy Metroplex will be...wonder if he'll weight more than Fortress Maximus. While taller, he still looks like less plastic to me:/

That's what I took from that wording but we will see with the actual final products.

I don't blame you, man. I'm doing the same thing for the exact same reason.

Aside from the movie toys, I haven't seen any Takara Transformers with English chips in them. I had to import TFA Optimus, Megatron and Bulkhead for my son, as he had no interest in the Japanese one--he watched the show in English, so it makes sense.

From some of the pics, Metroplex doesn't look that hollow and I hope that the plastic is reasonably thick. I think he'll be similar or slightly less than Fort Max, so shipping will be pricey.

Damn. Instantly thought Hasbro would be the way to go, but then...G1 Metroplex's chrome was on his face. HIS FACE. I want that.

Remember, Fort Max used die cast and included a foam insert. I'm not expecting either with Metroplex, so it could be a bit lighter than Fort Max and not quite as expensive to ship.

I just put in my hlj preorder for $153 before shipping. Well, depending on what the exchange rate does between now and release.

Same here. But they did restock a 2nd time at a 30% higher price. And still only got 2 in the store at a time.
The last 'big' item from Hasbro was that Star Wars electronic droid tank that was a TRU exclusive. The box was so big it took up most of the bottom shelf of that area. And the store got ONE instock. And never restocked.

    Hooray for large Hasbro/TRU exclusives.:thumbdown

I ordered mine from BBTS, hopefully the price will go down a little. The thing that sold me was nostalgia. I remember the chrome on Metroplex making him look cooler. So, that's the one I want.

    Takara Metroplex about $220 Us
    Hasbro Metroplex about $100 Us

That's how they can only give one gun.

Edit: Yikes, Just found the Takara version listed for $135 US. :D  Time to pick up 2! Thanks for the heads up deathsheadII!
