Spoiler I'm guessing the scene with Spock screaming in someone's direction is where he is on the safe side of the Engine Room window Japanese Trailer (Mild New Footage) Star Trek Into Darkness Spock
According to my new sci if magazine in an interview with Zachary Quinto Spoiler the whole volcano sequence. Is only five minutes into the movie
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Villain Finally Revealed Spoilers Ahead!! Well, the secret's well and truly out: Benedict Cumberbatch is the Indian. Some people will be disappointed, inevitably. But I must admit, as a successor to Montalban, Cumberbatch does an excellent job.
Well said MTME, I don't mind spoilers just don't forget to tag them before sharing them. Yes its confirmed at long freaking last who Benedict Cumberbatch is Spoiler playing. So for all the TOS fans out their I ask you to leave your Prime Directive at the door.
Well...I know one fan who isn't going to be happy about this...at all. I am NOT looking forward to hearing him rant about this... Honestly I would have Spoiler preferred him to not be Khan, especially with all the "he's not Khan" statements from JJ...I didn't think he would be one to blatantly lie like that , but this ultimately doesn't affect how psyched I am for the movie. I'm curious to see how all of this will be explained, what with the whole John Harrison code name, and him being one of Starfleet's "top agents", according to Admiral Marcus anyways...
I'm guessing that this ends up happening : Spoiler ... The USS Botany Bay did not escape to space and was shot down and the surviving crew were then put into cryo. The Federation recondition's and further experiments on the surviving Augs then places them each in related branches of Section 31 to conduct off world OPS.
Actual spoiler from folks who have seen the film: Spoiler Admiral Marcus thinks the federation is weak and is worried about the Klingons becoming more of a threat. He (or his agency) scans space until the Botany Bay is found and basically holds Khan's crew hostage while still frozen to get Khan to do his dirty work. Khan works as a Sector 31 agent and goes rouge.
That...actually sounds good to me. Should be interesting to see how that plays out, and how things end.
You know, had JJ not done all that "He's not Khan!" crap and instead talked about Spoiler him being a Khan with a background that gives him more then we've ever seen before, they could've avoided all the outcry. Honestly, that makes me even more interested in the movie.
So much "nerd rage" on the STO boards over this. Always amuses me when the loudest people crying "have an open mind" or "Star Trek is about peace" are some of the first to say "it's not Star Trek, it's garbage" or "this isn't what Star Trek is all about. I hate Abrams." Or crazy shit like "I hope Abrams burns in hell for all eternity" or is somehow tortured, maimed, etc. IDIC FAIL
Oh god yes, the butt hurt rantings of Star Trek fans who believe that "Their" Star Trek has been destroyed by Bad Robot Productions and JJ Abrams is a riot to read through. I mean let's not forget that the 2009 Star Trek (Reboot) alone generated more Box Office revenue than any of the preceding Trek films combined.
I've been a trekkie since I was was a small child and I'm loving these movies. The trailer practically makes me cry...in a good way
