This is going to be a battling-robot-type-thing, isn't it? Those human designs just scream "Digimon character".

But you know what? The robots look awesome, so I really don't care.

They're just random mecha. More Megazord than anything. I thought Takara had outgrown those kind of things after the experience with TFA's character based designs instead of generic mecha but I guess not.

Hoping the Decepticon combiner has cool individual robot modes atleast.

The one thing that has struck me after looking at the images released so far is that I've yet to see any faction symbols. Am I just missing them?

So how would you describe something which is not random or generic mecha designs?

You mean to continue with TFA aesthetic style from now onwards? So every TF series should have a TFA look to it?

Well so far everything TF in Japan since 08 has been either part of or derived from Hasbro lines or collaborative stuff, or collector stuff that gets by on using past characters. There's really been no established trend for Takara to 'outgrow' independent of Hasbro. This just seems like the style they want to use here - Bravey mecha-y.

Gross. Power Rangers meets Superlink. It will be very upsetting if this comes to the States and in any way comes between us and the next iteration of Transformers. But for those who are interested, it would be cool if the toys made it over here.

Am I the only one who noticed that the third page scan has what appears to be a 3D model of Wheeljack with all of his beast hunter upgrades? Evidence that he and other autobots may be upgraded to match their toys in the show?

    No.

-ZacWilliam, it's a magazine give-away direct to DVD show tenetively tied to the end of BH that will almost certainly be a very simple and Japanese only affair.

Guess this will be an OVA of some sorts from the looks of it.

However what about the 3rd season of TFP? Aren't they going to air that eventually or is it going to air on Japanese stations along with the direct to DVD anime?

Blimey, those designs are impressively generic. Like, would-not-have-guessed-those-were-Transformers-if-you-hadn't-told-me generic.

I mean, they're okay as super-robot designs go, I guess, but they don't feel like Transformers one little bit.

He didn't say that at all.

But those could just as easily pass for pilotted robots instead of sentient ones. They have no personality to the designs. Nothing about them indicates free-thinking beings let alone what kind of personality they may have.

Those bring back memories of ROBOTS IN DISGUISE: very anime-esque.

Will need to see more of the robots and the show of course, but they look great so far.

I will keep my eyes peeled for this...even with my wallet is trying to cover them.

If this is truely the case maybe my collection (and wallet) has room for a dvd movie that is a sort of an epilogue to BH. So far we know that there will be 6 figures and we know they are unfer 40 each (presales ont he autobots are up). I may be able to swing an additional $240 above everything else coming out.

Thanks for the info Zac, they guy who knows, Williams. :)

Rob Bricken's stupidity is hardly news.
