Rounding out our gallery coverage of Masterpiece Soundwave and his cassettes, here are galleries of Masterpiece MP-16 Frenzy and Buzzsaw. Frenzy and Buzzsaw are both redecos of the previously released Rumble and Laserbeak, just as they were in Generation 1 - this of course means all the good stuff going on with those two toys carries over with these two. Buzzsaw in particular is a great deco - I personally really appreciate the orange beak over the flat grey one on Laserbeak. As for Frenzy - call him whichever you like, this is the iconic Decepticon who Soundwave would dispatch to cause localized earthquakes to shake up his opponents in the Sunbow Generation 1 cartoon. Masterpiece Soundwave is getting a release later in the year in the US, and he'll be coming with all five of his cassettes - Laserbeak, Rumble, Ravage, Frenzy and Buzzsaw. The individual Japanese releases are worth the price of admission in my eyes - the US release, with a very reasonable price for the six Transformers will certainly be a must-have for many fans. Nice I did not know that FOC Generations Frenzy can hold the Masterpiece weapons. Was just thinking hrmm this guy needs some weapons now I know where to look when Masterpiece Frenzy is using pile drivers. Thanks for posting up all these wonderful pictures.
The US release of these guys will probably be the first Masterpiece I've picked up in years. Soundwave's one of my favorite G1 guys, and the fact we're getting him PLUS his five most well-known cassettes for such a good price? He's a steal
I hope this won't be the end of the Masterpiece gallery updates. There are quite a few figures that have been released since the previous updates. Most notably missing is MP-10, but also MP-03G, MP-10B, MP-11, MP-11S, MP-12, MP-14, TRU Thundercracker and even MP-07.
Colorblind much? When I received MP-15 with Rumble and Ravage, I thought I might not need Frenzy and Buzzsaw, due to having all three cassette molds already. When I did receive MP-16, I knew I would have been wrong not to get them: they are just so perfect! Thanks for the great galleries, SF!
