Alright I get it. I overreacted.

This. Was psyched to hear we'd be getting an Astrotrain. He still needs to happen

Ho-lee crap Springer has a waist swivel. I thought for sure there was no way they could work it in. Really looking forward to both of them.

It's great that we finally have some more shots of these figures out of package, but does anyone else believe that Springer's shoulders are constantly mistransformed? I think those yellow panels are supposed to fold down as seen here:

    Both need more paint.

I'm gonna wait for the Takara versions before deciding which versions of these molds to get

I may go Hasbro Sandstorm and Takara Blitzwing, keep Defender as my Springer

These toys are so good they are making my head hurt (especially in the second set of photos, where Blitzwing's head nests up higher in his helmet giving him a proper visor look instead of sunglasses). I don't know which I like better, they are both excellent. Better interpretations of the characters than I ever could have imagined or hoped for.

Actually, both reviews are disappointing, because they're not so much reviews as a gallery of snapshots with little in depth coverage.

Because you think you will make more money from Defender after everyone has bought Generations Springer?

Man, I was totally satisfied with FP Defender, but seeing Springer next to him... Hasbro's richer greens and yellows, that richer dark grey, and the broadsword just feels far more fitting for Springer than Defender's scimitar. And I can't believe how well his three modes turned out. Just minor wheel kibble in copter mode as far as I can tell. But even that is decently hidden enough...

Awesome finally seeing Blitzwing's third face and that his G1 face doesn't have to have that ugly forehead. He does look a touch thin to me still, but seeing him next to deluxe Decepticons might change my mind on that. His alts look pretty good to me considering he's a triple changer. Tank seems to be the weakest of the three though with the hollow bits between the treads in the back and less so at the front. Still passable as crazy 'cybertronian' vehicle though.

Both of these guys are a bit lankier than I generally would picture either character, but other than that, these look like pure sex. Springer in particular is a pretty amazing rendition of Nick Roche's artwork in three dimensions. Wow.

Blitzwing's tank mode looks perhaps a bit sketchy... I guess there had to be a sacrifice somewhere.

I think the splayed-out shoulders look is supposed to reflect Nick Roche's style and kind of the 'modern' take on Springer's design better:

*EDIT*: Also, to look like the box art:

I do like the shoulders closed like in your pic better though, makes him look more armored and solid to me. More like the G1 toy.

Damn those are awesome figures. Both of them just scream character. I am officially demanding the other 4 Triplechangers be made as Voyagers in this line. I need an Astrotrain to go with this Blitzwing and Broadside needs some love.

Hell, I'd like to see more figures like these beyond the Triplechangers. Let's see Roadbuster and Whirl given this style. As long as I'm wishing, let me throw in the idea for Voyager versions of the old Deluxe Insecticons too.

And the thing is, he doesn't have the hilarious Schwarzenegger face or the Metal Slug style tank this time around. It's a mix of animated and classics and delivers on neither.

WOW! I don't even need an Optibotimus, or Peaugh or Emgo nor an eBeforei to know I am totally getting this new Springer. Great shots! I can't wait to get this figure.

    Springer looks great!!!

Blitzwing looking clunky and awkward, especially in bot mode.

Love blitzwing, sold! G1 head only for me.

Springer looks great.... but he's too big. He's gonna tower over Kup, and thats not right for me, so pass. unless it turns out that he is roughly Kup sized.

Y'know, I realize I can just leave Blitzwing with his G1 face... hell, I could even GLUE him that way, if I felt like it... but those Animated faces are kind of bugging me. However, after consideration, it's not because I don't really care all that much for the "Blitzving" multiple-personality gimmick... it's just that those alternate faces just aren't all that cool. I feel like the sculpts themselves are very... meh.

That especially goes for the jack-o-lantern face. Since this ISN'T an Animated toy, it would have been nice if they'd added some additional technical detailing to that face, done SOMETHING to it to make it feel a bit more solid and like it goes with the rest of the figure. But... no. They just went with a pretty much direct copy of the rinky-dink 2D crazy face. Fail. :(

Other than that, a damn nice looking figure. But c'mon.
