from other issues i have read seperate from this thread, there were ppl who preordered from day one and never got one and some ppl ordered them when it was like instock for a day and when it was released and got one.

just seems to be a huge mess all around.

im sure there are a lot of factors as a company when getting product, but doesnt seem that hard to lets say take a number of 500 preorders, and if you only get 300 from takara, then the last 200 and or including multiples get cancelled. then once filled and are able to get more or received more, then list on the site once orders are filled, not at the same time as trying to fill preorders.

seems like orders were all over the place at TFS.

wow....I wonder if all that had anything to do with the amount that was on each order? But then that shouldn't make a difference unless TFSource was out to ensure those who only wanted one got one. Who knows. Don't quote me on that because....I'm not saying that was what they were doing. And if there were people who only ordered 1 like I did.....then what I just said really doesn't apply.

The kicker was that it showed it was instock in my stack, which I had prepaid oct 15 2012, for about two or three weeks and it did not ship out. It then switched to preorder. A friend of mine also ordered in October and did not get sent one and he did not receive their email. He ordered one, I had ordered 3. He has been a customer for years and both of us have spent a lot of money with Tfsource.

I contacted Tfsource about the item a couple of days before their email went out and they did not provide me with a very good explanation, just blah blah blah about Takara delays but nothing about the instock/preorder switcharoo.

Both my friend and I believe that they sold our items to other customers who placed more recent orders, either knowingly or because they made a mistake. I don't blame them for Takara issues, just for the issues they have control over.

I'm going to sit back and relax, like a sane person, and wait for the US release. The demand for these toys seems to be getting out of hand. With each release comes more delays and unnecessary worry.

I wouldn't be surprised if these delays were all designed to create buzz and panic buying, just to push up demand and increase prices. I refuse to buy into this crap.

Yes, order was paid in full in October when I placed it. Order contained vehicons and soundwave, both showed in stock, didn't ship. Same thing happened to my friend.

:lol  Relax? :lol  sane? :lol  I wish you good luck (seriously). I'll TRY to get the Hasbro locally, but I know there's a high chance that I'll either get lucky or not. I was extremely lucky to get the last MP-10 at my TRU and I expect stock to run out fast for this as well. I might need to import the Hasbro version for the obvious inflated prices, if all else fails.

I got the US MP-10. I preordered it and it arrived. I'll do the same thing with Soundwave, and if the order doesn't work out for whatever reason, it's no big deal.
I'll never pay over the odds for these toys. They're already expensive as it is, and it's not worth the mental and financial stress trying to hunt them down. If the companies that make them aren't able to sort out decent distribution after all these years, then screw 'em.

I didn't know Hasbro had any control over how Toys R Us distributes their stock.

I'm glad I received my MP-13 Soundwave nearly two months ago. I missed out on Sideswipe and I'm not paying $160 for one.

It is beginning to look like Takara is outsourcing their MP distribution oversight to the fine folks at Hasbro who have been doing such a bang up job of it in the rest of the world (heavy sarcasm). I kid, but not really. The way supplies seem to be running out on the last few non-cassette MPs is quite scary. I don't have the money to preorder everything, just grab what I can when I can. And lately preordering from a first run doesn't even necessarily guarantee you the figure. I really hope TT sees this as a problem to be addressed rather than a smashing success for the MP line. Time will tell, I guess.

You can't blame TFSource for the issue, but it is entirely fair to judge them on how they react to such a situation.

TFSource has advised they may not be able to fill all orders.

BBTS has advised they're going to be paying street value/retail to fulfill their original lower price pre-orders - taking a huge loss on every single item to meet their commitment.

TFSource is offering a refund for affected customers who want one, except that they can't refund the earliest purchasers (who deserve it most) and instead are giving store credit.

BBTS is giving a refund to affected customers who want one.

I'm starting to think now with some of you having trouble with getting refunds that using the "Pay Later" option was a good thing I did. :lol

Maybe the first-run-and-done scarcity is a ploy on TT's part to deflect attention away from recent shoddy QC. [IMG]

"Sure, the paint looks like crap and the leg panels break, but you want one now that you can't get one, don't you? DON'T YOU?!? Who's laughing now? Dance, peon!" [IMG]

Full disclosure: I bought a MP09 v1 just before they announced v2, and cancelled my MP12 preorder when the paint issues surfaced, intending to wait for a hopefully better second run. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on... hey waitaminute! :peoples:

I fail to see the relevance. What your saying is that TFSource's questionable handling of this situation is none of my business since I'm not directly effected? Hogwash. We all have the right to make informed decisions about where we spend our hard earned money.

    agreed,
i habitually pre-order as soon as possible and in the past have lamented my impatience, but given what I've read on this post I feel better about my buying practices - so even though I'm not directly involved, it's been enlightening... also, as a consummate consumer, I can empathize with those in this predicament

i'm also nervous how this will play into the TRU/Hasbro release...
