I could see them giving a basic summary as part of their application to film on the locations. If you're going to use a site to film, people might ask what you're going to film for image/PR reasons. Even then, they'd probably be under NDA to not talk about that.


At the end of the day, the "leaked" summary only really contained one bit that could not be in the film - "evil" humans messing with Cybertronian tech. A new evil attacking Earth and the Autobots coming to help are a given.

 

Honestly disappointed... if the new plot summary was correct it would have enticed me with the whole 'businessman and scientists' who are using Cybertronian weapons. Now I get the feeling it might just be a generic 'ancient evil' plot. At least the previous plot had 'businessman and scientists' who messed up before the 'ancient evil' was unleashed.

 

I would honestly trade a possible Unicron for the humans developing new tech. I don't trust Hollywood with Unicron, especially live action.

 

Ah the lovely fun of claim every leak is false. Although for squishing things it's still not a fun as Hasbro leaking Megatron in the second film.

Perhaps Paramount is upset there is rumor going around that there is a plot instead of just randomly blowing up crap and killing Decepticons for two and half hours? Other than a small handful of fans I can't think of anyone that buys a ticket for the plot of these repetitive films.

 

I do, thanks. My comment was tongue-in-cheek about how the films are viewed generally (which I guess wasn't as obvious as I thought it would be).

With the track record of news being leaked, claimed to be true, claimed to false, turns out differently in the movie, et al, I'd say that the only way to confirm what'll actually happen in the movie is by watching it when it comes out.  

 

You could just drop in on the boards as soon as the film hits since people cover every detail of the films as soon as it's released. I'll likely rent the movie but I should know every last detail long before it hits Netflix or Red Box.

Anyway, surely TF4 would actually be a 'threequel'? If a 'quel' is the number of movies after the first one.

Movie #1, a sequel, a 'twoquel' and then TF4 a 'threequel'. A 'fourquel' would be a fourth sequel, which TF4 isn't.

Not that 'twoquel' or 'threequel' are any better.

TF4 should just be referred to as 'Trilogy+1'. I have no love for that 'quadrilogy' nonsense

 

Well, a third movie is commonly called a threequel, so it would indeed be a fourquel, although that word does sound kinda weird lol

Well, that's what I'm getting at. Waiting until the movie is released, essentially, instead of clinging to every. single. bit. of news that shows up and will basically be shrouded by doubt.

Oh, I don't know about that... I watched all three of the other movies and I'm still not sure exactly what happened.

Well, when TF5 comes along, we'll all go through the same thing all over again. At this point, it would be great if we knew who had real scoops, who was just posting misdirection, and who were actually just making shit up so we know who to believe the next time around.
