True that! Slenderwave takes the bacon cake for second in command. Though of the poll choices, i'd say shockwave.

Honestly Soundwave is in a perfect spot chain of command. Third puts him at the disposal of whoever is in charge during Megatron's absence, thus giving them a POWERFUL tool to further whatever plans need furthering, but he's higb enough said SIC can't hide stuff from him since no one else can defy his orders, thus letting his full loyalty to Megatron be used.

Case in point, Soundwave was very helpful to Starscream when Screamer was in charge, furthering his own goals while he was in charge. Moment Starscream needed to be reminded who the real boss was, Soundwave was there to stop him.

    Imma go with Shockwave.

I'd say Soundwave but I see him as being above 2nd in command.

Starscream because he is plain awesome. Dredwing was cool, but too honorable for the cons and he never fit in with them. It never made sense. Airachnid was just dumb. I am intrigued to see what Shockwave brings to the bunch though. Personally I think Starscream and Shockwave sharing the post is Perfect. They really both deserve it.

Though you're right I doubt that was why Megatron picked up the gun and shot Dreadwing really.

It was likely because Dreadwing disobeyed a direct order. Megatron isn't the sort to stand by as someone knowingly goes against his commands.

My original response came off as argumentative, and that wasn't my intention.

Basically, I'd rather wait to see what personality they give Shockwave in this iteration before making assumptions of how I 'think' he should be.

To be fair, he wouldn't have had to deal with Cliff and Arcee if Starscream hadn't fell for Cliffjumper's taunt and just let him shoot the sucker :p

Though I won't argue with the point about Predaking. That guy is probably gonna be eating them up soon enough :lol

After watching Duane Cappizi, Jeff Kline and company discussing the series as a whole on the Transformers Prime season two box set, it became very clear that their love for the franchise stems from the various cartoon incarnations (specifically G1, Beast Wars and Animated) and movies--not the comic books. As far as I know, Shockwave has been nothing but a f'up in the cartoons:lol

Remember in G1 how he couldn't shoot for $#!+? Remember how he always got suckered by the female Autobots, Dinobots (the dumb guys), Jetfire, etc. or how in Animated he was goofy in his actions and movement?

Shockwave is loyal in the cartoons, but he is doomed to fail.

Starscream is loyal to himself, but he, too, is doomed to fail:lol

Transformers Prime has done a pretty good job of making their failures appear less goofy.

Can't wait to see how everything goes down this season. I have a feeling that Optimus and Megatron are going to be teaming up one more time before this show comes to an end.

Predaking can't be the only new Predacon this season. He's going to have an army of his own and this new faction is going to be a thorn in the sides of both Autobots and Decepticons. Predaking is going to take Cybertron and Earth away from everyone unless they work together to stop him and his forces.

I seriously hope we see Abominus before this series ends!

    I'm voting Shockwave.

    Starscream is a traitor.

    Airachnid is a loner.

Dreadwing was good but then betrayed the Decepticons.

Shockwave so far seems like the only one who actually deserves to be second in command.

Its between Starscream and Dreadwing for me. I reallly think to many people underestimate Starscream heavily. Notice he isn't really a punk when the situation demands survival. He managed to Arcee in a tight hold when they fought. Not to mention him takiing down Wheeljack and him devising schemes. Some just need to face the fact tht without Starscream, the Decepticons are completely unorganized and out of order. Dreadwing would also make a very acceptional 2nd-in-command. He managed to give Optimus a run for his money and nearly killed Bulkhead and Wheeljack. He seems to be an excellent strategist and combatant. He would've made a fine leutinent if he was still alive. MAybe eveen better than Starscream probably.

I like the comment from one of the creators at High Moon studios. "Shockwave is loyal to Cybertron, Soundwave is loyal to Megatron and Megatron is loyal to Megatron".

I'll go with Shockwave because he best adapts to what I consider to be the decepticon philosophy. The strongest one leads, survival of the fittest yadda yadda yadda.

IIRC, the comment said "Starscream is loyal to Starscream" and didn't mention Megatron except in the Soundwave part.

    Yeah you're right.

"Megatron is obviously in charge of the Decepticons, [and has] three lieutenants: Shockwave, Soundwave and Starscream (which by the way is very confusing to people who are not big Transformers fans because they're all Ss), but it's all about loyalty.

"Soundwave is loyal to Megatron above all things.

"Starscream is loyal to Starscream above all things.

"Shockwave is loyal to Cybertron above all things.
