This is what GLTAS and YOUNG JUSTICE were cancelled for. So I decided to see what WB/CN saw in it.

It's not bad. Certainly not on par with the other two shows or even the previous Titans show, but that doesn't mean it lacks potential. It's got a TFA-POWERPUFF GIRLS-PSG-BRAVE & BOLD feel to it, something that's generally fun but can still get serious and dangerous. And I'm one of those who believe in fun and comedic stories, so I'm giving this a chance.

I can't expect people to agree with me on this, but it looks okay.

 

"Oh hey, Teen titans is back, let's see how it.... Did they kill a pizza guy?"

Ok did not see that coming..........

I think I'll till the show airs before judgeing but it's not looking good.....

 

The show looks terrible. The animation is far too stupid looking - they look like toddlers. >.< If they'd gone back to the old TT aesthetics, I might have given this show a chance, but as it is...easy pass.

 

This is gonna suck.

 

I am just trying to figure out, if they canceled GL and YJ for this and the Batman show, shouldn't it be in the same time slot, not a week night at 7:30 PM

 

If I remember correctly new episode will air week nights and then a rerun will air in the old GL or YJ timeslot.

Which really makes this even worse (as far as the canceling goes).

 

The only good thing about this is the old voice cast returned.

For that, I'll watch one episode.

 

You know what we should have gotten? A direct-to-video movie explaining what the hell was up with the final episode of the original Teen Titans show and how Terra is inexplicably alive again.

 

I wish they'd at least used the character designs from the New Teen Titans shorts. And I also wish they'd used that color palette as well. They've pushed the colors to be more Powerpuff-Girls-like. While I love PPG, I'd be happy for PPG to PPG and Teen Titans to be something different.

Anyway, we'll see how it turns out.

 

We lost "Young Justice" for that?

 

As much as I liked Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, I really wish that hadn't used that animation style for this show. I might give it a go since the original cast returned, but I don't have high hopes for it.

 

good thing we have batman coming... because this looks dumb.  

 

I think the thing that really pisses me off about this, is the shows creators saying that they've never watched any of the original series. How exactly are you supposed to make a cartoon based on something you've never actually seen?

 

I love the original Teen Titans cartoon, but this is just stupid. They should have just continued the original show from where it left off.

 

Great to see the gang in something new, but damn that animation looks waaaaaay kiddie.

 

From the DC Comics they were based on.

And it's different interpretations, like with TF's kiddie RESCUE BOTS alongside its dark PRIME saga.

 

No. This and Beware were likely in production for a very long time before they decided to cancel GL and YJ. So, this (and Beware) is what we'll be stuck with, in the DC Nation block, because of the two cancellations.

I agree with most that this show doesn't look great, especially compared to what we're losing, but you can't lay the cancellation blame at the feet of the people that are working on these upcoming shows.
