Nobody here is going to know the answer to that question. All I know is that the Governor is in the last episode of this season according to IMDB, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's not in the next season, as well.

It would be cool if we got a few "Webisodes" giving a lil back story on him....you know, like they did with "Bicycle Girl"

This was another episode that I enjoyed from the start. Like others have said, it was a nice change of scenery. I thought it was cool how they each clicked with each other too....I guess in a real post apocalyptic world, each of us would be happy just to meet and talk to new people in a civilized manner vs. busting caps at each other.

I think Rick made the right move
not telling the group the details of the meeting....its all about survival, and some folks would more than willingly give up Michone if they thought it meant peace and harmony....esp seeing how she's new to the group.

Did anyone else think Merle was trying to lure Michone away with the whole "kill him first" thing so the Governor could get her anyways?...you know, get back in the Governors good grace by turning her over to him?

So i've been talking with a couple of friends who also watch the show and we all think that
the person who's going to off the Governor is Milton. Mostly because this recent episode shows although he follows the governor's orders out of fear, he disagrees with his choices. And they've HAD to keep him alive all this time for some kind of purpose. They had a couple chances already to kill him off and they didn't. I have a feeling when the Gov raids the prison Miltion comes with him and while Gov is executing members of Rick's group Miltion puts a piece of lead in the back of his head. I mean think about it. It would be the perfect shocker for the season finale. The main antagonist's nerdy assistant finally growing some balls and doing what needs to be done. And most people who don't follow the comics probably assume Rick or Michonne are going to do it.
I know that's not what happens in the comics but this show has proven many times before it doesn't follow the comics to a tee so I wouldn't be surprised if they changed this as well.

I feel like I am watching the same episode each week.

-Governor wants to kill everyone at the Prison, but doesn't.
-Rick's group has an opportunity to strike but doesn't.
-Andrea knows the Governor is a bad person (and he always puts her down) but as always chooses to stay with his group.
-People waiting at the prison just sit around and don't actually try to do anything to make it more liveable. They just sit, and talk about the Governor.

I know a lot of people love this storyline in the books, but I really feel like this whole arc could have been done in like 6-8 episodes of the show. It's like watching a soap opera, nothing happens. They are almost exactly where they were in like episode 2. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

LOL... this over simplification of what happened is exactly what The Walking Dead is not about. The characters "sitting around and not actually doing anything" is the show. The killing of the undead is the filler. And that's what makes it different, because you are supposed to actually care about the characters. If you don't by now, this show is not for you.

This is exactly why I said I want a change of scenery.I just hope they wrap up the whole Rick/Governor and Woodbury/prison storyline before the end of the season. It's just like when they were at the farmhouse. After a while it gets kinda old.

Regarding the new episode, it wasn't what I expected but I enjoyed it. I have a feeling
    Martinez and Milton will defect...

I am not sure I want to see the Governor die this season. When you think about it, he has only been a major threat to the main cast since the tenth episode of the season and Rick has only met him just now. So we would have only three episodes to see them as enemies who meet face to face. I think it is way too early. I want to see him at least make it to the next midseason finale.

I understand what the concept of the show is. I never had an issue with season 1 or 2. While the group spent many hours on the farm in season 2 they were dealing with a lot of issues and I thought it was great.

This season has 4 extra episodes added on and less has happened. The people in the prison are literally sitting in the prison. No one is clearing zombies, or trying to fix the fences, or cleaning up the area they are living, or exploring the prison for supplies..............

It's stale, and almost none of the characters have evolved this season. In fact, some of them have regressed. Look at Rick, he became so hardened by the end of season 2, he stopped listening to the group and decided it was best to not deliberate every single decision. Fast forward to last weeks episode and Rick makes this decision to go to war, and it's like yeah! Way to go Rick!. Then that moment is totally ruined because you find out he hasn't made a decision when he talks to Hershel, he can't make up his mind, just like he was before Shane died.

The show needs to pick up momentum again.

I can see how you feel that way about Rick. I see it more as he's changed because of the fact that he lost his wife and is now worried he's uncapable of leading. I don't think that making the decision to be the dictator of the group was necessarily the right call.

A lot of the other characters have made major progress. Hershel's younger daughter has come out of her Shell. Darryl is willing to stand up to his brother. Carl is being forced to become an adult way too early in life. There's plenty going on character wise in my opinion.

The only one that never seems to learn anything is Andrea.

I think andrea annoys a lot of people too because of her lack of progression and unwillingness to change. But that is her character, or how they write her.

She wanted to become this hardened badass in S2 yet still has absolutely horrible character judgment and unwillingness to make a informed decision on her own. Basically everything Batman said about Rick, I point to andrea instead and say there is a better example. Rick has reasons why he's in the shape he is this season, Andrea had better company and she chose to leave michonne behind because she's still a horrible judge of character.

I love the show though, don't get me wrong. But Andrea needs a better direction. From the preview being shown it looks like she finally starts putting things together on her own.

Plus Andrea's actress is kind of bad. Or direction for her is bad.

I absolutely agree about Rick. Rick has serious stress and shit weighing him down that'd seem too convenient if it was all dropped for good.

I liked Andrea until she started being a bitch about everything and became protective for the Governor, enough to go back to Woodbury after finding out the Governor did "something" to Maggie, and the fact that Hershel didn't even tell her exactly what it was, hinting that he raped her, even though he didn't, should be enough to get her senses tingling and have her go back to Rick's group. But nope, she's still a bitch, even though it seems like she's starting to see something's up.

I caught up with the series about a month ago, just in time for act 2 of Season 3 to start, so I'm gonna frequent this thread now. Seems more stable than the Pony thread, that's for sure.

I'm kind of lost on the Governor's motivation now. His people really don't care if he doesn't destroy the "prison group". All they want is to live there and not be afraid of walkers entering the perimeter, or so it seems. The only even remotely aggressive individual is his right hand man, who doesn't show one inclination that he would take over if he perceived the Governor to be showing weakness.

The direction of the writing is kind of becoming forced at this point. The Governor really should be "fine" with the current conditions. He's killed members of Rick's group now, and he's gotten rid of Merle. I just don't understand his motivation, what does he care anymore? Is he really that interested in the few supplies that Rick's group have?

Right now I think he's just gonna kill them out of spite and revenge. He wants to kill Michonne, but he'll totally engage the rest afterwards to tie up all the loose ends. I guess with an eyepatch comes a nasty personality.

I hope that someone kills Andrea.

    Brutally.

    Slowly.

I also hope that person leaves her head intact so that she comes back as a walker.

So that someone else can kill Zombie Andrea.

    Brutally.

    Slowly.

I'm still pissed about that time she shot Daryl.

As I've said before, once this show puts a woman on the spotlight, it ruins her as a character. Thankfully, while central to the cast, Maggie and Michonne get secondary roles so far.

I know a lot of people think of Andrea as one of their comic book favourites, I was just indifferent to her, but in this TV show, this season, I can't stand her. It's like, "oh hey, the finally did off with Lorie. Wheeee!!! Oh no wait, they dumbed down Andrea now".

Also agree that the writing for the Governor makes little sense now. It seems they're trying to sell us to the idea that he did want his daughter "alive" so that there could be a cure for her, and Michonne ruined it for him. That's motivation enough, but still not good enough. He's very, very, very, very tame compared to his comic counterpart. And it seems that they have abandoned his origin story completely.

The Governor is very unstable so I can buy that his main motivation is to kill Michonne or anyone with her.

My theory for Andrea' s decision is that she wanted to avoid a Trojan War type of situation. She has been at Woodbury for a while now and would probably know enough about the town and The Governor to be a threat if she told someone like Rick. The Governor would probably attack the prison even sooner then and with more force to prevent another possible raid.
