I like it quiet, but sometimes I'll leave a light on in an adjacent room. I suppose I'll get enough silence and dark in my pine box.

I used to need it up to my mid-teens. The noise helped me sleep. Now, the only thing I can stand is soft, ambient music.

Same here. Not to mention it saves power and increases the TV's lifespan.

Every Other day I'll do this. Course it's muted and on Closed Caption....course it's kinda bad when it's late night somedays I end up watching TNG on BBC America and Knight Rider on G4....when I should try to sleep but my sleep patterns are so out of whack now it's crazy.

Nah. Gimme dark and quiet. The hum of my fan is the best thing to help me sleep. I used to listen to music at bedtime but not for years now. Sometimes I might read a little before settling down to tire myself out. Or play Mahjong on the DS.
When they're airing 'Transformers: Prime', yeah?

    Yeah?

Nah. I'm just fucking with you, mate. :dunce

Usually, but I have to remember to have it on an infomercial or I'd likely get interested in what's on.

No but I've been leaving the radio on every night for years. The constant flashing from a TV would probably keep me awake.

"Omelette du fromage" has forever scared me from sleeping with any kind of noise going on.

I find TV/radio/lights/whatever horribly distracting when trying to sleep. Unless I'm really, really tired, it's near impossible for me to tune it out, especially with the inconsistent levels in light and volume.

On occasion I'll fall asleep with the TV on.

This happens more often while lying down on the living room couch.

I tried putting my radio timer on for an hour last night.

Fell asleep while it was still on.

What I find odd is that both my parents could fall asleep within moments of lying down.

With me it can take a few minutes or possibly an hour.

I always have my tv on when I go to bed. I have to have that light and some sound to sleep. I never used to be like that but when your single at 1 time for a long time, that helped put me to sleep. So I continue doing it today.

Sometimes it helps me sleep. I also listen to the radio. Hearing my cat purr or my pets snore also relaxes me for some strange reason. I'm weird anyway
