Well, it would seem that Shockwave has read the Evil Overlord's list. At the very least he's read the section on air ducts. Which means that what's coming up will be very interesting indeed. Most of the main Decepticon force is outside the base, engaging the Autobots. Upon checking the last few strips of the main comic, it would appear that all of the known-to-be active 'Cons are at he main battle save Shockwave himself. Which would, under normal circumstances, mean that the base was mostly unprotected by any sentient defenders. More specifically, it would mean they were down to Mur and Shockwave. But since I read through all of the strip fairly recently, there are a few things that might be pertinent to the situation that I might not have remembered before. Namely, the three-quarters finished Shinkis in Mur's lab. Which could potentially make for an interesting reveal. And I wonder why Shockers was looking at a picture of his movie self. On an unrelated note, Murmeltier's new outfit reminds me of older styler great coats. Particularly WWII era.
There's also the fact that Shockwave can link himself up with the Decepticons' main computer, most likely giving him access to the base's defences...but maybe he'll let Mur take care of the annoying pests in the base.
That's also a point worth noting. If Shockwave's interface extends to the base's controls as well, as he has implied in the past, then the stealth team is headed into an environment controlled by an enemy far more dangerous than they expect. I do doubt that he would let Mur control things, though. The two don't exactly seem to trust each other.
First, all of you are forgetting Shockwave would've installed internal defenses at unpredictable points. Having a laser net show up in the middle of a ventalation intersection could get messy... At least, that's what my Shockwaves would've set up. Second, we've already seen Shinkis outside of the comic w/ 'Con symbols, this would be the time for them to show up IN the comic. I'd like to see how Mur's AI deals w/ Shockwave dirctly plugging into any systems it can access. That would prove quite interesting, & potentially dangerous for Shockwave.
Which is why I said that Shockwave might let Mur deal with the intruders. I was specifically referencing those Shinkies.
Man how I have missed this comic! I don't think the battle will turn out the way any party, Autobot or Decepticon believes it will. Shockwave looking at his movie form is troubling. I am hoping for a few layers of intrigue, i am hoping Megatron has something up his sleeve too. Call me old fashioned.
I know I said I would never catch up on a great comic in one sitting again in OOTDL, but, I did anyway. **Explodes.**
Polencius, I read your comic before I joined the boards, and think it's very good. The special effects, the story, the characters... But that's not why I'm here. I read a few other comics before I was a member, and got me thinking that there should be some kind of collaboration between the various funnies authors of tfw2005 to make some kind of guide to the recurring trends in the funnies (The mms, shinkis being used as mercenaries by the mms, Possessed black repaints trying to summon some universe ending monster).
There isn't a guide, but we do have a Social Group in the background where we Funnies Creators can collaborate. When Pol introduced Sideways, he laid out some loose rules on using him, which were sufficient for this amateur comic maker to make use of him. For my part, I posted a guide for using my contribution to the Multiversal crossovers, Vector Prime, when I posted his first appearance, & added a direct link to it in my comic's first post for easy locating. A guide would be nice, but I managed to include Sideways & reference the MMS & Dark Entities w/o one. So as long as you know who to go to for permission for any given crossover character/ organization, a guide isn't necessarily needed. It would be helpful for noobs, but we manage w/o one. Or do you mean an index of appearances? That would be hard to maintain, as only one person would be able to update the first post, & they'd have to stay up on everything to make that work... & not disappear... A guide for appearances would also be difficult to make a timeline for, since time was bent into a pretzel for a few of Vector's appearances (example: the first crossover takes place before my comic existed -- retcon -- but doesn't happen in-multiverse until a crossover that hasn't happened in my universe yet. I really need to fix that last bit...), & every comic has a different flow of time.
UPDATE You too can post dark, blurry, shitty photos and be a moderate to exceptional loser! Click the link to find out how! Notes: 1. As always, stuff in the Decepticon Base takes forever due to how much editing is necessary. It seems no matter how much set building I do, it hardly mitigates the editing required 2. Playing with the contrast settings to try and give it a darker feel. Decepticons must like eyestrain. 3. Those of you who wondered what the readout for movie Shockwave was for… now you know. And knowing is half the battle! … Argent already has the other half covered.
First of all; as always, great attention to detail in the effects there Pol! Now, as to my assessment of the update; I'd say Argent has them covered!
By which he means, ask for guidance, but ultimately ignore it in the end. Lol, Argent has the other half covered.
