I demand Generations (and Kreon) TUX!

I'd love to see the GoBots used for something besides "Gobots were so LAME and Transformers are so much BETTER!" That whole rivalry was from before my time; all I see in GoBots is another line --one that had some really neat alt mode choices, at times-- to homage. It'd be neat if they were a separate race, especially since they seem to be exploring the larger universe in this "aligned" universe, but sneaking some GoBots in the 'regular' Transformer ranks would be fine too.

If they can get away with Kre-O, Classics Jetfire, and the countless times they've imitated real life vehicles, I doubt obvious homages to the GoBots is somehow beyond them.

I never got the lame arguements anti-GoBot people made. Mostly they were made from ignorance of another toy line they saw as a rival. Both toy lines had gems and turds, and honestly at the $3 price point, Go-Bots were vastly superior. Many of the character names and gimmicks from Go-Bots were later taken by Transformers, and most of the Transformers fandom doesn't even know it... For instance Transformers had Duocons... but it totally ripped off Go-Bot Dread Launchers!

Puzzler blew the early G1 combiners out of the water, I wouldn't mind seeing him reimagined in some form of reference (stunticons repaint maybe?)

I always liked the Power suits idea too. Generic armor addons, plus you could use them to make any Gobot into a combiner.

Only if they brought them in as they're own race and not background Cybertronians. And they should give them a Spotlight: Gobots comic, a limited run series and maybe a few cameos to re-introduced the characters. As for figures personally, I'd like new mold deluxe versions of Leader-1, Cy-Kill, Cop-Tur (maybe voyager), Turbo & Scooter (maybe scout). Pathfinder (Cosmos), Small Foot (an eventual Gears / Swerve), Treads (Warpath), Fitor (Ramjet), Sparky (Runamuck, maybe not in red so not to be confused with Road Rage), Spay-C (Astrotrain), Loco (Astrotrain), Buggyman (Beachcomber), Bad Boy (Powerglide) & Road Ranger (an eventual Huffer) could be done as re-decoes / re-tools of existing Hasbro molds. Other than that I'd want Puzzler done as a six member gestalt.

Raise your hand if you saw "Go-Bots vs Rock Lords" in the Theater.

-ZacWilliam, me and my best friend at the time were the only two people at our showing. :)

GoBots have a place in the TFs universe. They would work as cheaper options designed by the Quints for those who couldn't afford an actual Transformer. Just like in real life!

You have to think somewhere in the endless universe of possibly Fitor and Shockwave are pen-pals who pass time playing chess through the mail while they wait to get orders from their leaders.

Gobots and transformers had $3 and $10 price points. Difference is the $3 Gobots were better than the $3 Transformers.

Yeah, toy speaking Go-Bots were better than the same price TF.

Where TF beat them was in fiction, characterization, and higher price points.

-ZacWilliam, but Go-Bots really did have a lot of coolness all their own.

If Gobotron was worked into the fiction as a separate planet within the Transformers universe, I think I'd write it as one of the many habited planets that got cyber-formed by conquering Decepticon forces. Have them assimilate the organic locals and make them into the giant robot cyborgs we know. Have an uprising, the Gobots take back their world, but are left with cyborg bodies that they don't fully understand and are stuck with until they can find a method of reverting themselves to their organic states.

It would provide a good excuse for the Gobots to naturally be hostile to any Transformers passing by.

On the other hand, I don't mind at all, that many Gobots have been worked into the TF universe as part of the Cybertronian race. It's all good either way. It's just nice to see the Gobots get some respect.

Luckily 80% of Go-Bots were at the price point where they were superior. Plus Go-Bots were superior in combiner technology and were much less fragile. Transformers had the Marvel writers behind the fiction, while Go-Bots had Hanna Barbara writers. Think what good writers could have done with Go-Bots...

I think if the "Aligned Continuity" ever managed to make a show like Animated, it would be funny to see a gobot as one of the Star Seekers.

I'd love to see more Transformers toys recolored as Gobots. It's only fair as Unicron destroyed the Gobot Universe.:lol

The issue with using more Go-Bots in Transformers is because of the three-way licensing snarl. Hasbro owns Tonka so owns the rights to certain assets such as the main names, but Hannah-Barbara (or their successors in ownership) own rights to all that's associated with the cartoon. Meanwhile, the toys and thus the original designs most of the characters were derived from sit with Bandai.

The result is Hasbro can refer to the characters in name only - anything treading too close to being an outright homage is going to bring Bandai down on them.

I'd love to see more references to Gobots of course. A shame we never got Tux in Animated really.

I don't know. Both of the low price point lines suffered from the same "Tuck in arms, fold/tuck legs, turn over" transformations (Windcharger, Turbo, Outback, Hands-Cuff, etc.) I would call them about even with a slight edge to the Transformers. The design choice that turned off a lot of kids to the large Go-Bots was the use of the windshield/windscreen as the robot's face.

But little touches such as faction symbols and personality profiles went a long way to differentiate between heroic scientist and robot that turns into a sports car. If you saw a new product on the shelf, a Transformer's box alone told more of a story than a GoBot's blister card did.

This makes me think think you maybe weren't exposed to enough Go-bots, because while the TF small offerings were pretty much limited to what you describe, Go-Bots had a MUCH larger variety of altmodes that transformed a ton of different ways beyond that.

if you had all of both next to each other, the small GoBots way out number, out variety and out innovate the small TFs.

-ZacWilliam, and I love some Minibots, but yeah, the small GoBots, as a line, are seriously better toys for the price

it'd make a great DVD release, Transformers Universe: Challenge of the Gobots

its could feature vector prime coming to classics convoy with Omega Prime (from RiD), telling him they need help out their cousins on the far end of the universal stream. their dimension is falling apart due to a rift in time space caused by an event between 2 other universes, and now the rippled effect has cuased their universe to fall apart. the transformers of that world, the gobots, have already sent out scouts into other time streams to seek out a new home. but its too little to late.
optimus, omega prime and vector prime gather a team of autobots together and travel to the gobot universe. laserbeak of coarse sees this and alerts megatron. and the decepticons follow the autobot troop to the other universe, but locking onto the transwarp trail left by omega and vector primes.
