I think we are talking about the same thing?

I'm talking about the tail that goes into the Leg during robot mode. The tip of the tail is quite stiff on mine but the tail as a hole is pretty loose when in robot mode. It just falls out sometimes, I wish Takara would of put some type of locking mechanism in there.

    Pics please, thanks!

Here you can see where I replaced one of the rivets with a screw. I just happened to find some small screws with threads that were approximately the same diameter as the rivets. I had to sand the heads down a little to make sure there was clearance for the two tail segments to attach together in dino mode. It's a rough fix, but you don't typically see the screws in either mode, and it keeps the tail segments in position very well.

I just used my cheapo hobby one, i.e., http://www.electronicecircuits.com/...9/09/auto-heat-limiter-for-soldering-iron.jpg

If you're gonna do this, make sure to remove the chrome pieces first via three screws. Removing the rivets is a little tricky because you need to apply heat to the rivets more or less at the same time you're prying the tail apart. Just be very careful and don't rush it, and make sure not too apply too much heat at once so as to minimize damage to the plastic.

Wow, I just noticed this post. It would have saved me some potentially confusing typing if I had actually been using my eyes last night. :banghead:

Hey guys, my mp08 failed to glow up as I wondered there was a malfunctioning on the led lighting system. I couldn't change a new one as I got this piece from ebay bidding and the seller simply couldn't offer any prove of purchase. Do I need to change the led lighting by myself? How to do it? I've tried to loosen the screws on the arm but I couldn't detach the arm from its shoulder. Is that any proper procedure to take the led out and change it?

My first Impressions of MP-08 Masterpiece Grimlock

    in a word Whoa.

he is head and shoulders above my Hasbro MP Skywarp in terms of quality and i do not feel like i will break him if I pose or transform him, I am often afraid to do much with Skywarp ,...those wing joints.

I like his accessories not sure how often i will use them but the waiter getup its amusing. His gimmicks are nice and non intrusive.

The transformation is good, a step up from the G1 figures but not needlessly complicated as it all makes sense.

he has immediately taken the top spot as my fave figure in my collection. ( previously held by BW Tigerhawk)

This isn't meant as a review, just giving my thoughts on it . tis my first Japanese MP and I glad i pulled the trigger on him.

Congrats man, MP Grimlock is also my favorite too. Unlike other MPs, he very sturdy and durable just like G1. Also, his transformation is simple too. He's the perfect example of you don't have to have a complicate transformation just to be called masterpiece. I love him in both mode as well as accessories.

I just saw an Hasbro TRU MP Grimlock for sale on BBTS this morning so I went ahead and bought it. I saw this guy in TRU a couple of years ago but I hadn't gotten back into Transformers yet. My 3rd MP in a month!

Ok so! My mp us grimlock is having a problem with the autobot symbol. It wont come all the way up when transforming to robot mode and I think it has to do with the spring. I took it apart and messed with it and it helped a little but not all the way. Any help?

I think that's actually pretty standard. You can probably glue a piece of plastic onto the tab that pushes the symbol up to push it up higher.

mine has the same issue. it was perfectly fine then it sat on my shelf for a year in dino mode.

transformed him the other day and the symbol wont go passed the half way point of the whole to show it.
