Do you only buy official HasTak?

I have yet to fall in love with Uranos as yet.

I Have been buying Third party for ages fromt right back when it was one bloke and a dog selling things in bags at conventions.

I don't see me stopping. I'm not against 1st Party though I just like a lot of what the 3rd parties do they seem to often fit my play pattern quite well. Though the stuff I like best is perhaps things other people bare think of like the Replica mini-Allsparks for example.

I don't have as many 3rd party figures as I do officials, but the 3rd party figures I do have shine throughout my collection. Even when friends of mine that don't collect come over and see Hercules, they ask why they've never seen that in retail or magazine adds. Hegemon is the same way. Now while I certainly support 3rd Party companies all the way, there are some that are just too pricy, and some that I don't think should be that expensive. I'd love to own Perfect Effect RC, but I just couldn't and can't pull the trigger on that one. MMC Cyclops I wouldn't mind owning, but other things are taking financial priority. To put it simple, if I made an extra $10k a year, I'd buy damn near every 3rd party item out on the market. They're excellent figures and they really add that "pop" to anyone's collection.

Originally, I was strictly 1st Party only, but I've loosened that policy of late.

I've bought some add-on kits (Hothead Headrobots, Corbot War Axe, Coronation set, and the Golden Disc set), but I didn't have any full bots for awhile.

That's recently changed with Sonicron (who I think is okay), and the Perfect Effect Scouting Force X (who I think is freaking incredible and awesome in every way).

Whether I continue buying 3rd party figures is up in the air, but add-on kits I'll probably continue with, depending on what it is, of course.

I do, mainly because I can't drop a hundred dollars on a figure all the time and because I have no means to buy stuff online.

Third Party Companies are a-ok with me as long as they make their own designs and their own figures and their own molds.

The only time where I have gotten offended was the Bumblebee figure which was just a reshell of the classics bee. That feels like theft to me. Where as FansToys Quakewave and the Hercules sets are their own molds and they are made from scratch by an artist/team.

I don't collect 3rd party due to price. If there's a not too expensive one I really, really want, I'd consider it. I decided to get Maketoys Giant when it was restocked at TFSource but got sick of waiting and spent the money I had put aside on other TF.

It's all fun...up until the stores near you (general) decide to pretty much stick to one wave for months, if restocking at all. I'm not particularly picky with timing of the newest waves. I don't expect new stuff to be there every time I happen to go to Walmart. But it's pretty damn depressing when you're cheering at the sight of Bulkhead and finding Arcee pretty much a week or two before the stores transition to Beast Hunters.:(

But kudos to you Boy Blunder for having the willpower to avoid the slippery slope ending in a monster rabbit hole that is third party stuff. :thumb

    As far a figures? Yes.

    For accessories?

    No.

Shapeways Star Saber and Arcees Blasters/blades are way better than what HasTak have given us.

Only official Has/Tak for me. However, the one third party/KO figure I would buy on release - G1 blue Bluestreak.

No. I buy what I like and feel is worth the money to me. "Official" doesn't have much to do with my buying choices.

The prices of 3P are higher, yes, but before I even started collecting Transformers I was into the occasional Sideshow and Hot Toys piece. I'd always had the stance of quality over quantity. I don't mind paying for one expensive piece over 6 cheaper items if I think that one piece is worth the money and I like it more.

I went through a period of just getting anything new I saw at Target, Walmart, etc.... and thankfully curbed that - that adds up in the end just as much if not more so than a few good 3P or masterpiece items, and ultimately it was a lot less satisfying to me.

I would take a small collection of amazing over a large collection of mediocre. And the quality dropoff in the current official stuff (non masterpiece) just enhances that feeling for me.

A fair chunk of my collection is 3rd party. I'm fortunate to be in a position where I can afford them. But I still only buy stuff that I really like AND think it is worth it. MMC Cyclops for example I really like, but don't think it's worth the price. Whereas Mech Ideas TopSpin and TwinTwist I think are definately worth the price, but I have no interest in the figures. And this is how I go about all my TF purchases, official or not. It hasn't really helped HasTak lately that (imo) there offerings recently have been quite poor, but hopefully that is looking to change this year.

But different strokes for different blokes. If someone just wants to collect official, well it's their collection. Same as I collect what I want. ;)

Someone has a quote in their sig that says they'll buy a figure that's made by either 3p or official, as long as they get the figure they want. That's how I feel as well. I don't care if it's official or unofficial as long as it represents that character I could care less. Genesis anyone? :D

I normally buy only official unless I find something I think I need like the Rodimus Protector armor(Rodimus Prime). Otherwise I wait until an official version comes around and since I found out about Metroplex and Trailbreaker coming out, I've started to believe in Hasbro again.

I mostly buy official but will buy 3rd party if it's an add on or accessory I really like Example: the city Commander armors or some of Dr Wu's recent swords

Or if there is nothing in the official channel like the Mastermind Creations Feral Rex

    Only official here.

Like many other people, collecting 3rd party figs is just way too cost prohibitive for me. Plus all the assorted QC issues that these $100 figs just should not have on top of that.

But the big reason is that I simply choose not to support it. Bottom line for me is that the 3rd party companies are making a profit off of stealing HasTak's IPs. It doesn't matter to me if HasTak has no plans for such and such character or combiner. It's still their characters, their ideas, their property. I don't hate or despise 3rd parties. And I'll never preach and try to convert 3rd party supporters away from it. Or put them down for it. Or sport an "elitist" attitude about it. I just choose not to support it.

That said though, I have nothing at all against things like add-ons, new heads, and other accessories. I think they're awesome. And some 3rd party figs I actually have no qualms about either, like the Hearts of Steel stuff. Because let's face it, there's ZERO chance of HasTak ever doing HoS stuff themselves. But again there's the cost and QC issue that keeps me away.

I used to, but I have been disappointed with the current Hasbro offerings that have recently come out. So, I am going to try some 3rd party offerings to tide me over.
