The explanation is rather disappointing and predictable but it does lead to a nice twist later on.

A few of us have already read this issue. Let's not ruin it for those that haven't, eh?

I will say, I was really impressed with the color work in this issue. Tons of the imagery simply pops right off the page/screen.

Nice alty, though given all the smoke you could add a cigarette or joint in jackys hand there

Ouch. I feel bad for poor Swindle.

I have this bad feeling that Wheeljack won't make it through the issue, based on his incomplete sentence and wording in the last page of that teaser.

Prowl has just reached a whole new realm of sketchiness. By faking the deaths of a litany of Decepticons, he have just become MORE shady than them.

"Welcome to the black room, Bee".

Prowl is acting like he's working the door at a hot nightclub, it's awful. IDW can't seem to get these characters voices right.

What voice did Prowl EVER have in G1? In the cartoon he served as a soundboard for 80s Optimus Prime's John Wayne droll (and just as capable of casual speech patterns as the rest of the 80's cast). His modular copy, Bluestreak, had a bigger role (that's how we met Chip). In the Marvel US comics, Prowl was background fodder, seeing more time in a pale blue paint job than in his police black and white. Prowl's big moment in G1 Marvel...promoting Grimlock (whom Deservedly should have met his demise at the hands of Blaster during their gladiatorial mano a mano on the moon) to Autobot leader...so much for logic. :drunk

Prowl as the overtly logical archetype has largely existed via Marvel and Dreamwave character bios and played no part in any of Prowl's further incarnations until after twenty three years later, in Transformers Animated. The Cold, Logical Prowl you mistakenly believe existed since 1984 (amazing how nostalgia distorts memory) is solely an IDW creation.

PBR has been around since 1844. Plenty of people drank it before people started calling kids "Hipsters".

    Also, Prowl is a douche.

The only cold logical Prowl I remember is early Marvel G1 where Prowl loses patience with Bluestreak in one issue, and dresses down Mirage in the next. Prowl's correct voice is that of Sunbow Prowl where he was portrayed as a strategist in 2 episodes of the Ultimate Doom. Prowl devised a plan to rescue Sparkplug and he advised Prime during a battle... all without being a dick. Not only did IDW get the voices wrong, they've also managed to make characters like Prowl and Bumblebee unlikeable in a franchise where many fans like the Decepticons as much as the Autobots.

without obviously not knowing what is going on, is Prowl actually playing the Decepticons and this is one big plan to put the Autobots into total control of Cybertron. Or is Prowl just a giant douche who is evil

Wrong. Much like most other characters, it was the Sunbow cartoon that got the voice wrong. Please try again.

Don't even try reasoning with 1984forever.
He's literally on 95% of the boards blocked list, seems to exist on a purely antagonistic level and most of his comments are akin to watching a lone Heathcliff repeatedly smash his head into a tree, howling primal vengeance at the sky.

I'm sorry... What? Prowl is the best part of RiD!

And seriously... TWO episodes? Are you joking?
