Nice work, thanks. You misspelled Predacon (a common mistake), and also, CNA is Cybernucleic Acid, as coined and invented by Simon Furman some time ago.

I love the new Predacon bios, and especially how they are written as if from the "pen" of Shockwave. And mind you, I pretty much hated the TV series so far... So I hope it uses these new characters well and does not kill them off in 2 episodes, as was the case before. In fact, I like them so much I decided to type in the text here.

Hmm, that's high praise coming from an unemotional Bot. Maybe ol' one-eye is smitten with the dragon-lady?

Borderline idiocy is probably a major requirement for any Con recruit.

- Translation: strong sense of honor and being stubborn? He is Grimlock, as a dragon. Watch him switch sides on the show early on... Definitely new mold with a short tail and vestigial wings, probably Voyager. 'Blackbeak' is some odd mutation, a second head grown to his back that can shoot out some grapple...

- Tsk, Shockers, confusing the tail and head genes? You should go back to Drosophila cloning experiments and work out the kinks.

- Hmm, sounds like an interesting fellow. Basically the new Starscream, but maybe he is loyal to the Predacons if no-one else.

- Something tells me Megatron is soon gonna end up dethroned in the show by this fellow. Wonder who'll voice him. David Warner would be awesome...

- Let me guess, that next cloned version was Blight.   Also, lines up nicely to his G1 bio. And oddly, he seems to have a Trex-shaped head even in robot mode.

- Heh, Shockwave finally found a friend? Looks awesome, an ice-dragon... I am unsure, but he may be a heavy remold of Ripclaw. Looks like the icy bludgeon on the tail becomes a fist-attached weapon. Probably has disk-shooters in the wings, too.

- Awww, Shocky has a doggy now!   And Turbofoxes! He is a remold of Lazerback, with a new beast head and probably robot head too.

- Very nice hommage, I love how
his arms transform from the wings.

I think There is a Laserback Remould and Ripclaw remould too.

I think that's clever replace the tail and head (and wings perhaps) as a general idea and keep the body - makes a lot of sense to me. not to mention you can transform them slightly differently and use the whip tail or not and get quite a different look out of them.

There's persistent rumours of Transformers coming backed with comics so perhaps some of these will be issued again with a comic pack in comic colours i.e. Ser-Ket and Backbite.

That would help expand the Predacon ranks nicely too.

 

From what I can tell, Skystalker is Backbite. I guess they couldn't get the rights to the name.

 

The little thing that we KNOW Shockwave arrives via Space Bridge from another planet bringing the Predacons (whom Megatron knows nothing about beforehand) from the trailer should be all the clue you need to know that... NO, they aren't. As Shockwave describes in great detail, these are all cloned extinct Predacons, who existed prior in the past - he might altered some, like giving Hun-Gurrr two heads or making Blight more stupid, but they are all existing personalities.

I am guessing all apart from the Terrorcons will appear in animation, since it'll be easy to make Scourge from Lazorback (same CGI model with new head). Also, the "unlikely alliances" part in the season description probably implies Grim Wing will defect and side with the Bots.

Btw, considering he is a possible foil to Predaking, I think Grim Wing needs to be a Voyager, at least.

 

If Grimwing is a foil to Predaking I would like him to be a deluxe and smaller than him.

Rivalry where the good guy is smaller than the bad one is always cool.

 

Yeah, Shockwave has a big happy family.  

 

I don't think any of the Abominus components will actually be making an appearance in the show, to be honest.

 

"I am Predaking! I am leader of the Predacons!"

"Where are your troops?"

"Troops?"

 

While I do disagree with that last line, even if GW is Voyager, I'm still using Leader-size Predaking.

 

Personally speaking it's that while prices are rising the figures are getting smaller and more hollow supposedly to save plastic costs, and then they add in this ugly armour stuff. It may be removable but I'm still paying for it.

In some ways I wish the armour wasn't removable because then I'd not want this figure at all.

We need a list of what the Prime creators have said. I keep hearing conflicting claims ("it's about being a Prime", "it's called 'Prime' because we couldn't think of anything better"; "we rushed season 2 because Hasbro wanted dragons", "we ran out of material in season two"; "no repaint characters", "oh Dreadwing? yeah that repaint thing only applied to Starscream")

 

"There will be a Dinobot-esque defection in Season 2"

 

Face it, they're making it up as they go along. It's incredibly old school in that respect.

Back on topic, this toy looks cool, looking forward to seeing more of this at toyfair and hopefully more like it as well.

 

Shockwave looks like it'll be good toy, especially with the removable armor.
