yeah, I don't know exactly when it happened, but I noticed it checking out my preorders one day. I know it's one of the things people note as a drawback to ordering from TFSource, so figure it's good to point it out now...though not many will see it buried in this thread :)

Log on to your TFSource account. Go to My Source, then into your Stack Manager and finally into your Preorder tab. There should be red "X" next to everything. Clicking on that removes item from your preorder stack. Once the item is in though, looks like it moves to the available side and it's a done deal. They probably didn't update the wording on their preorder policy.

Like I said, I just noticed it last week. You would think they would announce it on one of their TFSource update posts.

I just checked and yeah red x are there. I also hestitate to preorder from tfs cuz of no cancel policy so this is sweet. now if only they would allow to get the freebies on preorder orders. I mainly preorder stuff from them and I have all these source points but can never use them.

Yeah, I have a lot of source points building up as I just mainly do preorders too. I'm betting if you emailed them and asked they would work something out. I'd try it but there's still nothing I want from the free stuff option.

Wellll... I suppose it might be the kind of thing they wouldn't want to promote... I'm sure they don't like it when people cancel a preorder. But I do think that option will encourage more people to give them business, since (as this case illustrates), it removes a lot of the extra uncertainty around those exceptional preorders.
Maybe they were reading this thread. :lol

Mogambo is always pleased. I ditched him because all of his positive energy was cramping my style. ;)

I've been considering A3U more and more... the last time I ordered from them was under their old management (quite a while back), but their flat-rate Canadian shipping is pretty reasonable, and they get a lot of the good stuff. I've only purchased from Automaton once. I'd buy from them more often, but their prices tend to be just high enough to make it more worthwhile to go with an outside retailer... and of course, being in Quebec means I get charged extra provincial sales tax with them, which kind of removes the incentive to buy local, sadly.

To imply that those are the only two choices one could have or should ever ask for, is the false binary. It is the fundamental exclusion of even considering questioning the status quo that is so limited here. Whether I preordered or not really has no bearing on whether someone should be able to raise a valid issue without being attacked for it. Your argument seems to hinge on some idea that one should never ever question, critique or complain... just suck it up and choose from whatever is placed in front of you (while simultaneously bitching at others for complaining, something you also cannot change... a living contradiction!). You think very small and I think that's pretty sad. :(

No, it's more like raising the question "uh... so guys, why aren't you showing us more of the project your are now trying very hard to encourage us to buy? Is that on purpose? Because it will probably actually hurt your sales a bit."

(and of course, bearing in mind that this information was then revealed immediately at the end of the sale period)

I feel like I shouldn't need to point out the obvious so many times, but raising that point is not "entitlement"... that's simply common sense. What is, "entitled" however, is running around presuming to call other people "entitled"... an irony seems to be lost too often. But, by all means... keep trying. Because continuing to insult and reproach others with a different opinion is really getting you somewhere.

This whole point about "it will hurt MMC's sales" is funny. Based off what? You (smog)? You seem to be one of very few who didn't jump on the preorder, and even you may still buy once you see final color and a review. So where are you getting this presumptuous idea that this early bird discount will lead to less sales than if they hadn't offered it the way they did?

actually, beside the "no sale tax, and no shipping cost" at all, 3rd party product is even cheaper for people who lives in Asia, because most are made in asia, and the re-seller has no need from shipping goods either, people simply just pick up the goods. And because they are completing with each other, some stores cut down their profit. Even cheaper for pre-order items.
However, once the anticipated new toy hit the market, such as this Rex, they can be gone in hours, and the toy will cost about 50% more of what it worth. So it's the safest and cheapest way to preorder 3p TF especially in asia.

Can't...wait...to be in China for the latter part of this year. I know for FP, MT, and the such, prices are pretty even across the board, but what about MMC? Cheaper in Asia?

First off, that's not even close to my analogy. Like, our Sun compared to Pluto not even close. Exagerated, but still-you have it backwards, the fandom is the parent in my analogy. Go back and read it again.

Big ol render from MMC at TFcon 2012. True, these have since changed, but the pics were there, we knew what they were going for. Unlike FP Menasor, where only a silhouette has been revealed.

Again, the info was out there. has been since summer 2012.

You first or not, i was referring to the other person's use. Doesn't matter at this point though, because: (continued after next quote)

yes. Wanting to know all the information before buying a product is normal. Complaining about a discount for people willing to trust a company and demanding the discount for the chance-takers without taking the chance.

To use another analogy, that's like complaining about-actually... its no analogy. You're complaining about not getting a discount hile refusing to fulfill the requirements of said discount. At least, it seemed you were I've kind of lost track of a lot of this.

You compared a brown box with a silhouette, not knowing what was inside, could be literally anything, to knowing it was MMC, a good company. Knowing it was Predaking, a popular character. And seeing pictures of all of them, though admittedly ones drawn on the computer. You had that info for a few months beforehand, not randomly walked into a store and were pounced on. Either straw-man or just a bad, bad analogy.

Then too. True, the combined mode has changed a bit, but, as I've said multiple times in this thread, a lot of info was available for months. Price? We knew it when it went up. Unless you mean the overall price for Predaking, in which case its the same as all other combiners-as we ha been told.

Not if it's awesome and might sell out. Once all the info is out, everyone might want one. Everyone goes to pre-order, but nothing is left. Hopping on early guarantees you one, and you get a discount. We have again come to wanting the reward of the discount without wanting to do what you need to do to get it.

No, I never said anything about berating someone with a legitimate concern, nor did i do that. The original purpose of my post was to say "hey, being nice to one batch of people isn't being mean to another" since you said that you were being penalized for wanting to see more. You'd also mentioned wanting to see pics that had already been revealed. Your post i replied to felt very angry, and my original intent was trying to point out the logic behind the decisions they made, since you had said you didn't see it.

Wasn't that either. I mean, I can see the logic behind it, trying to get people to jump on the early bird specials for the next one. Reminds me of a discussion way back about the point of being in the TFCC if, upon getting the magazine, it gives no new information that hasn't already come out at conventions. Early bird gets the worm, then the other birds see how tasty it is. Perhaps not the best way to go, but there is logic.

What I was saying was that we agree to disagree about whether or not having an early bird special like this makes sense or not, and if it's punishing those who waited. Clearly, the moment a figure is available for pre-order, people pre-order it based on what it is, otherwise the pre-order wouldnt even be up. So there are some people who pounce. the sale attracts attention, and ultimately sales. I think it makes sense.

I also don't believe it's punishing those who wait. A discount for those who fulfill the requirements isn't charging everyone else more out of spite. it's charging them the regular amount, while rewarding those who jumped right on the project. Now perhaps my opinion is skewed because I'm using BBTS and don't see the harm in a pre-order, while that's not as simple for someone where you are.

Ultimately, I was saying we agree to disagree about whether or not the sale was a good idea or not.

Hopefully, once I've made myself clear, I'll be able to-but every one of your responses seem to indicate you think I'm talking about one thing, when I'm talking about another.

All this bickering is getting annoying especially when there are half pages of multiquotes.
If you missed the early bird special, oh well. For us that got in on it, we are taking a chance but we are getting rewarded for that with cheaper prices.
If the product is released and disintegrates in our hands, BBTS, TFSource and other retailers will refund me and others and I will be out nothing but time.

No need to your rolleyes to do so btw.

Also, I just checked your youtube vids. Those are some nice articulated hands. I might just use them in one of my customs. Fucking sweet articulated hands man. How much is one again?

Of course. I think even each side wants to do so.

I had the need. Im pretty fed up with this pointless arguing. It would be great to know how the figs will look like, their colours, plastic, joints, everything. But they are still working on it. And still improving I might add. You dont have to buy it. I did. I hope I wont regret it. The first Herc run looks discouraging from what Ive heard. But I have Annihilator and Stormer. They are pretty good and I have faith in MMC. This Predaking looks amazing and I have a hunch he will be even better at the end.

Though Ill repeat my suggestions: Articulated fingers, guns for all and I still pray for combined beast mode.

The G-System hands? I think they were 20bucks shipped from some ebay gundam store. I wanted them for Leader Ironhide, but at the end I gave him fakebuskers hands. So I dunno what to do with them so far, they are very big.

Very big? Leader class? [/U]Damn. I wanted them for an ultra class size bot. I guess I'll be looking for another set then.

    Thanks dude.
