The one thing Transformers Video Games need is: support.

Which developer do you think could make a bad-ass Transformers game, and give it support to keep us coming back to it?

If I had to pick a specific developer, I'd go for Naughty Dog. They can make a damn good, cinematic-feeling game, and put plenty of ongoing support into Uncharted 3's multiplayer.

Have WayForward and Nintendo develop a transformers platformer game.

    Rocksteady.
They've proven themselves with the Arkham franchise of games that they can deliver in spades with an IP.

I would be fine with HMS again, but there were a few problems with FoC that didn't make it one of my top games of 2012.

    That would be disgustingly bad.

If you're keeping the Gears of War style gameplay, why not let Epic have a shot at it.

I'm not even sure if I mean that as a joke or seriously.

    Indeed.

Considering my dream game is a (GOOD) Transformers RPG, I think I'll go with the Bioware that worked on Mass Effect 1 and 2.

Rocksteady or Naughty Dog for sure. Rocksteady knows how to handle a beloved brand and Naughty Dog delivers outstanding visuals, story, and simple yet fun gameplay.

How about Square? They can make up some pretty good mechanics, either RPG or not, and perhaps if won't feel like a pretentious anime when I know the characters from the start...

Well, then, you need to convince more than roughly half a million(the only figures I can find for FoC sales to date put total sales at less than 500,000 copies) people to buy the game. (For those who might be interested, WfC's total sales to-date are around 1,000,000. That's after several YEARS on the shelf.)

No company, ABSOLUTELY NONE(not even Valve), is going to support a game with an install base that small. For comparisons sake, we'll look at Naughty Dog and Uncharted 3 since they've been brought up as viable candidates. Uncharted 3 has sold over 5 million copies, and that's on just ONE system.

People need to learn to accept that Transformers games are ALWAYS going to be fairly niche titles compared to long lasting games which garner year long support.

So then, best to leave it at HMS. A company that atleast understands and loves the franchise, and puts their all into making a good Transformers game. Instead of just roughing something out for a movie every three years and moving on to their next easy cash cow.

The idea that FoC didn't get support because HMS is lazy, doesn't care, or some other imaginary failure on their part as a company is both wrong and sad.

Rocksteady all the way, at least we'll know they'll be able to get Corey Burton....who's with me, but I would love it, if they stuck with the art style HMS already has created.

Not saying they should make a transformers game but media molecule would give us plenty of DLC

Ya, infact I could see a comprimise, you know, create the game get recognition for it, but move onto the next game and give the rights for another company to create DLC, but I could definitely see complications arising from that.

It's not my job to get people to buy the game. It's the DEVELOPERS job. I don't remember seeing any FOC commericals on TV, not one. And there's no better way to get a gamer to buy a game than to market it on something they use every-day (TV).

Why not support it? Why make a game, then let the multiplayer rot in online hell? The company made it Double XP permanently, because they're simply done with the game. How do they expect to expand their company if their not going to support their product?

You're proving my point. Transformers Games haven't had the right developer to launch them into long lasting games that garner year long support. Did you see what HMS did to Transformers: DOTM? Ouch.... that lasted not even a year..

I'm sure there are thousands of other gaming companies that grew up with Transformers as well. And to be honest, they moved onto 'Deadpool' rather fast, and seemingly forgot all about FOC.

It's not 'wrong or sad'. They released the game in August of 2012, and basically closed up shop sometime in January. They released 3 DLC's, that consisted of only characters. No new maps at all. FOC didn't get support because HMS decided to stop giving it support.

They were done with it well before January. You don't need many people to look at online statistics and tweak a couple numbers around. The DLCs were done before release, so don't figure that into the "continuous" game support that this topic is about. We got milked on those, plain and simple.

From Software should really make a TF Game. They made Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, two of my favorite games, and I'd love to see them make a Transformers game in the same style. One that takes place long before anything involving Optimus or Megatron. A game in the ancient history of Cybertron about one of the very first Transformers, out to find his destiny in the world and defeat the Predacons that inhabit Cybertron at that time.

Platinum Games could make an incredible TF game, especially with how well Bayonetta, Vanquish, and MGSR are done. I'd love to see a game starring Drift that's a hack n' slash, with all sorts of Decepticon bosses to defeat, including massive ones like Scorponok or Devastator.
