Hey folks, I've bought a huge load of Transformers thinking I had got myself a bargain, but as I should have known I think a fair few of them are KOs.

The problem is they all looked fairly worn, they looked vintage in all honesty, but going through couple of guides out there there's a few scary signs.

However I can't find information on all types, and I wondered if there was any signs that were applicable to all loose items, as most of the guides help with boxes only.

For example to KOs have date stamps?

Are there KOs of G2 items?

I could really do with some help here!

See, this is what's confusing me. It looks legit in some ways, but then I look at Snarl's clear plastic and it's dark when it should be a bit lighter. The Optimus Trailer and cab don't have stamps (the trailer has T2 in the circle, but no stamp - it's just blank).

Motormaster has two circles where the KO guide says knock off one will have them, but from the same set Breakdown's decepticon sticker doesn't have white eyes which a counterfeit should have.

    Confused.

That Snarl looks like a legit G2 snarl before they changed the colors.

Ok, well I've spoken to the seller and they sound genuinely surprised, so I'm not sure they knew. I'm trying to find out where they came from, and in which case I need to determine which ones are definitely fake.

On the Snarl first of all, do you know if the G2 had a date stamp and if so where it might be?

The G2 would have an even more obvious sign in that it would have the G2 Autobot symbol printed somewhere on it and "AUTOBOT" printed next to it.

Also, how much for the Ironfist. I seriously want that Ironfist.

Ahh, found out the G2 version should have a G2 insignia on the leg, this one does not. So pretty sure Snarl is fake. One down.

well, in truth I'm going to have to sell all of it to recoup something out of the deal seeing as I'm unlikely to keep anything now. So, depending on how the negotiations go with the original seller, you may well have that Ironfist! Feel free to PM in a couple of days.

I am largely going to assume most of the G2 stuff is legit, is that sensible?

I don;t want to sell anyone fake stuff you see, so I'm trying to be really careful to avoid what's happened to me.

Yeah, the G2 stuff looks legit, especially since a lot of it is uncommon and generally of characters not nearly as reproduceable as scramble city combiner members or the really older G1 stuff.

    As for trying to determine the legitimacy of this stuff, send a PM to the user "Maz". Believe me, that man is a GOD when it comes to knowledge about official Transformer variants and I'm sure he and his resources could lend you a hand. It's POSSIBLE that you may have one or two things from the relatively obscure "Chinese" release of the figures from the 90's;
    http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_1_(Chinese_toyline)
The Dinobots are allegedly included among those "officially" released from some mail away promotion. As I said, hit up Maz, he should point you in the right direction.

The Snarl that comes in gold packaging released in the early 90s in the UK, Europe and some Commonwealth countries has that darker dino head, so vintage G1 Snarls do come like that, just not first release 1985.

Tracks looks legit, as does Astrotrain, Octane and the minibots and everything in the last picture.

Primes with a totally blank stamping could be 90s Chinese manufacture that got released in China, Singapore and even Portugal. Again, not necessarily a KO, just later Chinese manufacture but official G1.

EDIT: The fact that rubsigns are missing off Snarl and Astrotrain, could mean they came in the later Spanish gold boxes. A lot of his stuff seems 90s era, so not KOs but Chinese manufacture G1 again.

    All the best
    Maz
