Would you want a Generations line that features all the types(gimmicks) of Transformers Toys?

What if we had a Generations line where each figure(or two) featured one classic gimmick of the Transformers toy line? I personally am growing sick of just having Transformers restricted to one gimmick encompassing an entire line, and even more sick over the most overused gimmick of all toy lines (MISSILE FIRING ACTION!!!).

An approach like this could help fill some empty character slots and at the same time, bring back some long lost features of the Transformes line.

I would imagine the figures would range in class all depending on their size (cyberverse, scout, deluxe, voyager, ultra, leader, supreme), but with deluxes and voyagers being the main bulk of the classes used.

Preferably, I would like it to be kept at 1-3 figures per type/gimmick, choosing characters who would best represent the gimmick(Fuzors-Silverbolt) but also be fan-favorites(Armada Starcream)/most iconic(Transmetal Tarantulas), and currently popular characters (Overlord, Swerve).

Some characters that are recent homages(Spinister), have a recent non-classics stylized version that features the gimmick(Animated Blitzwing is already a triple-changer), have many 3rd party versions(Constructicons), or have had too many recent repaints(Springer-Botcon, Universe 2.0, Asian Generations) will be excluded from the list.

Some characters we have received homages of (Countdown, Metalhawk) will be included on the list because they do not address their original figure's gimmick.

Next to each listed character is the class size I think would best fit them.

    The List:

    Triple-Changers:
    voyager-Broadside
    deluxe-Sandstorm

Sure, why not? As long as Hasbro doesn't mess them up.

More triple changers would be nice since the G1 Generations collections just aren't complete without those characters.

I'd really love to see some Beast Wars Generations figures now that Hasbro has gotten better at making toys that look like their on screen counter parts. While it might not have the shine I think revisiting the trans-metal figures would be great for Generations.

There are even post Beast Wars characters that might make for some cool looking toys if they were brought up to the Generations standard.

Heck I wouldn't even mind if Hasbro could do something like pack in a Robot Heroes style figure in the packs as an added bonus.

Questions like these I always answer why not? I don't think I've been opposed to Hasbro giving us more or different product. The real question is would I buy it? That comes down to if the figures are done with quality. The list above is pretty awesome, especially an Armada Starscream. I'd have a hard time refusing an Armada Starscream in the Classics line.

Car Robots (because TF prime ruined the R.I.D name) needs some love.

I kinda feel like the answer to this is "You mean, like the line we already have?"

or "Between Hasbro and the 3rd Party boom, I think we're good."

All in all, I'd say we're doing pretty well already, but I'm always up for more toys, so I wouldn't say no to a new line composed of what you're proposing!

This is for people who don't have enough money to dish out for those 3P items. Others may have the money and say that Hasbro sucks, but some do not have the money to spoil themselves like that.

    Now? No.

When TF figures go back to what they used to be and not the light, hollow stuff we've been getting over the past year? Sure.

Yes, absolutely. Transformers needs variety. Simply making a pretender into an ordinary robot isn't good enough.

I agree. My enthusiasm for new Generations reveals have been dampened by this very trend.

But, we can dream, right? New Transmetals would be wonderful.

Also, this thread need more Animated. Only problem being that there aren't many gaps to fill in the line, but I'd love the line-up from the opening battle of season 3 - Spittor, Brawn, Red Alert, Stryka, Cyclonus etc. Spittor especially.

The list is revised because I didn't realize I had actually posted the thread. I was still constructing it and had to figure out appropriate size classes. I also was going to add a "yes/no" poll but again, I accidentally submitted the thread so now I can't add the poll.

Quality would be an issue since some of the Fall of Cybertron figures I've purchased seem to rank pretty close to the quality of the War for Cybertron figures I purchased years ago. But some of the figures feel more like a knock off brand than the quality I'd expect out of Hasbro's Generation figures.

The price hike wouldn't seem bad if the quality was equal to or better than past figures, but when you are paying more for a lower quality figure I almost need a figure review before buying it.
