I believe once convicted and sentenced to Death, the appeals process should be on a ticking clock. 5 years of as many appeals, writs and testimony they can scrounge together. at the end of the 5th year, a judge sets an execution date 90 days later.

Education-wise, i prefer home schooling. But i'd hate to rob my child of the great experiences that come with a public school.

Way back at the beginning of this thread there were people stating that they thought having pets was pointless and that dogs were annoying. Up until recently I would have argued but I'm kind of beginning to see their point. We have nine dogs. They were housebroken up until recently when they decided out of the blue that it was okay to shit and piss in the house whenever they pleased. Not just on the floor, but on the furniture. One peed in my bed this morning. They don't listen. They go on these barking fits every time there's even the slightest noise outside and they will not shut up. My mom died of cancer last year and I'm very quickly reaching the point where I'm only tolerating them because my mom loved them and would have wanted them well cared for. I suppose I do still care for them somewhat. But I'm at the point where when they die off I don't really want more. Electronic pets like Furby seem to satisfy my need to interact and care for critters. And a Furby will never shit on the floor. I think the best pets I ever had were my Aibo robots. They were sophisticated and complex enough that you could become attached and enjoy spending time with them, but they never made messes, listened to vocal commands most of the time and could be put on their charger whenever you needed time away. I think I'll always need something to care for, but electronic pets work just as well if not better for me than the flesh and blood variety. I still love my dogs, I just wish they'd stop using the house as their own personal toilet.
