Too soon to say, but given that MMC is doing Predaking (and says it'll be Hrcules size), I wouldn't be surprised if MMC's Predaking ends up being the nicest combiner ever. Just guessing though.
Just got green Giant, but due to moving only got to screw around with him for an hour before I had to pack him! I had Herc for quite a bit before this one, and I have to say I am of two minds about this one so far. Herc is a decent amount bigger, but that is both a plus and a minus as bigger also equals heavier so Giant seems to be able to pull more poses. But does not quite have the "Bulk" of Herc. Giant seems to have a more "refined" design, but is more partsformery. I may get rid of one, but I just don't know.
They're actually just as partsformery as each other. Combining gun for both, chest shield for both, hands for both (giant's forearms too, but they're attached to his hands so it's still just two parts) To me, Giant gets a benefit due to the forearms turning into generator trailers for two vehicles to use, jackhammers for robot mode, or a backpack for mixmaster. Where Hercules' hands are pretty much always hands except for the one that actually hides well in exgraver's vehicle mode. If I had both, I'd keep both. That's just me, though.
The only extra partsformery thing about Giant is the forearms. Considering the hands are attached to the forearms, it's the same number of parts. Chest and arms are the only forearm parts I'm aware of, and they both have those. Except Herc's chest is multiple parts. **EDIT** Ninja'd by Valk...
Fair point about parts count, but because Herc's forearms are the treads, and his hands hide pretty well, it feels less like parts forming then Giant's forearm trailers. This is of course pure opinion, but there you go. Back to the design thing and this is just for the gestalt mode. It almost seems like Herc had a better design from inception, but Giant seems like the design was better though out and refined. As a result the fit and finish seems better on Giant.
If he's in the combined form, you can get a good grip on the side of him that the grey tab is connected to ( Giant's left side ), then pull up on the tab until it clears.
Ahem. So, I may also be able to get a limited number of full sets of Yellow Giant. The price would be $450 for a full set of all six members (all three two-packs). I wanted to know if this is of interest before comitting to it, however. From what I can see, neither of certain other shops even has all three. And the price stated is cheaper than Upgrade Commander, as well...
I'm getting those again, too. But I'm not at all concerned about those. Since I wasn't able to sell the yellow sets originally, I don't have feel for whether there is any real untapped market for that version, what the original price was, or what is considered reasonable for it now.
I actually like the yellow better. The problem is that I strongly dislike most of the individual bots and am not willing to pay anything over $300 just to get a cool devesator. I don't know why I'm saying this, it has absolutely no bearing on what you're trying to figure out. In a couple years if a few of these things are being clearanced somewhere for closer to $200 I may bite. (I'm not holding my breath)
