    I feel bad for UT.

    EDIT

If UT has better playability then I'll go for them. They should really get their products to BBTS and TFsource though.

MMC's plastic quality scares me (and on smaller figures like the HOS Shockwave + minisub, the balljoints were loose as heck).

I really liked their designs, and love my Shattered Glass Knightmorpher Commander - but on other things of their I've bought, I've felt disapointed.

I'll likely hold off on both, wait for the reviews, THEN wait to see them at a convention. Toys for me are something that needs to 'feel' right, not just look pretty on a shelf. Megablocks-quality sharp edged, slightly brittle plastic for $100+ a part makes me edgy.

Now, if either of them can pull off the plastic quality of Maketoys, I'll post that Futurama/Fry "Take my my money!" gif so fast, heads will spin. :)

This. BBTS's has amazing customer service - in situations with 3rd party TFs, the potential for weird QC (missing heads, screws, broken on arrival, etc.) is higher than main-brand figures. Knowing BBTS keeps junkers on-hand to pillage for replacement parts makes me happy.

Right now i kinda like the blocky aesthetics of UT's version, but the fact that you can incorporate the Predaking parts in alt mode gives the MMC version a slight edge. It'll come down to a few factors for me. Price, size, gestalt mode, paint apps...

I think it is too early to decide. We need to know prices, see more of the combiners, etc....

MMC has good work. But UT looks pretty good. If MMC wasn't making Predaking, we'd all be excited over UT's teasers and products. Since this is another Giant/Hercules situation, I think we need to wait and see.

I went with Giant because of scale, price, and looks.

UT has scale and a nicer combiner appearance (like Giant).

MMC has nicer individual bots and a bigger size.

Price and reviews will seal the decision for me.

I agree with you. UT would have had an excellent start if it weren't for MMC.

SCORE! UT got their products over to BBTS! It's a little pricey for me though. Just because TFC made a $600 combiner doesn't mean everyone should do it!

That's about what I was think they would go for at US based stores after seeing RK's price. If MMC's version is that price or less this will be a tough sale.

I was hoping to maybe get both (like I did with giant and herc) but seeing how expensive UTs bots are knocks them out of my running for now. I may change my mind as things develop and we see more of what both companies are working on. Unfortunately (and fortunately) there are just too many combiners coming out to afford them all if they are all about 100 bucks a bot. So right now I am in the MMC camp unless something changes.

You know what would be awesome? If you could interchange limbs between both figures.

Yeah, need to see'em all...combined mode, and etc.

The four Predacons could look outstanding. But if Razorclaw looked like this...

I'd like to find out the price of MMC's Ferocicons. $100 for deluxes is definitely too much. $100 for voyagers is also on the expensive side, but at least it's a little bigger. I wish everyone would follow FP's lead in their pricing :/

An unknown company charging that much for a combiner limb, going up against a company that are tried and tested to put out quality products just doesn't feel right. The bots from UT are good if you want a G1 look but they will look odd in a classics collection. Razorclaw looks like it was made by Hasbro, 10-15 years ago. I'm surprised it can stand up with that huge lion head on the chest. Also, the shoulder canons are in wrong place on the UT design.

I was an early adopter of Impossible Toys Arcee and that decision made me realise not to jump on a 3rd party product when a company isn't well known. MMC for me. I prefer the prototype for Tantrum and I'm also digging the look of Razorclaw more from MMC. Divebomb will also have a very impressive wing span so Predaking won't need a seperate wing piece. From the shadowy picture, I get the feeling of a native American tribe leader.

These just look cooler and as you can see in the enhanced pic (Bountyan @ TFW), the shoulder canons are behind the shoulder where they belong. Also, we can see the designs for every member of the team and gestalt mode. We still haven't seen everything from UT.

Both if I like Predaking enough, but MMC is definitely getting brought. UT is only getting a "I will consider after review"

    Very much focused on MMC.

MMC also has a track history of putting out some really good figures. Granted there have some QC issues (Cyclops and KM Commander), but I think they are much more established.

    Besides..did you see the sword!

MMC fixed KMC after first iteration like they actually care. KMC version 2, or Annilhator, both took care of A LOT of issues on KMC, and added improvements, such as the ball jointed head.

Cyclops is getting the same treatment on V2.

Their track record, is that they are ambitious, tackling big projects (aside from PK, Cyclops was a huge one, Hexatron as well!)

They fix their stuff. (as I mentioned above)

Their products generally have high quality.

I have no remorse for UT. Like many said, they chose Predaking, probably knowing MMC were already on it. To me, it's almost as bad as an unknown Chinese third party coming in right now and posting Menasor vs. FP.

TFC vs. Maketoys Devy was a bit diff.: First, Maketoys had a decent track record at that time, AND it's style is, with insider info, very similiar to FP. So there is their credibility back then. TFC is established (but no super amazing product under its belt at the time, imo). So both groups have decent credientials.

I voted undecided. Need to see finished colours etc for a proper final decision, but at the moment MMC loses points from me big time for having two bots from the same base figure. If G1 Predaking could do 5 unique molds, then that's the least to expect from an updated 3rd party version. It's not like they're generic space vehicles or something, they're supposed to be totally different mecha-animal alt modes.

It comes down to colors/appearance of the combined mode for me. Whichever strikes me better, gets my money first. If the individual bots of whichever one I initially don't get are good enough, they may eventually get purchased as well.

First blush, I like the UT style more...less detailing, overall feel. That said, what we can see of MMC's Razorclaw looks better to me, so as above, the wait for final product pictures goes on.
