"Bland" is pretty much the only word that properly describes all aspects of the show other than its animation (above average).

The writers would have to work extra hard to make TP as bad as Votron Force.

People need to let that go. Beast Machines was a good show. Beast Wars was a great show, and no matter what anyone thinks anything following that was going to be a letdown. Ragging on Beast Machines for being the first thing following Beast Wars is critically unfair because NOTHING could've followed Beast Wars.

Many people only found Animated coming anywhere close to Beast Wars, and that happened many years after Beast Wars was over.

I think plotting and pacing can be weak in Prime. I think the dialogue is solid, and to me that's an area where kids show with crossover adult appeal struggle. I also find the show to have a better human cast, barring Miko, than anything else, including the movies.

I'll echo others and say G1 is one of the worst. To me it's only value is nostalgia for those who lived through it, and an understanding of the beginning of the franchise for those who didn't live through it.

TFP is more like a flatline to me, with the occasional blips above and below the line when it does something better or worse than the usual ongoing flatness. Other animated shows, either Transformers or others, spend more time above and below the flatline so at least there's something interesting going on more often, even if it might be regularly bad. Apart from the occasional little waver of brain activity and for all the potential life it sometimes shows, very often TFP feels like it should just have the machines turned off and a sheet placed over its face.
I like how the shape of the coats don't even reflect the shape of their bodies underneath. It's like they're naked humans under the coats. Maybe they're off to the park to flash at people.

G1 didnt have a stable story plot and sufferd for it in my list

Each part of the unicron triolgey had a real goal to get to be it collecting mibicons stoping deceptecons from geting energon or collecting cyber keys.

Beast wars was simple survival on a mystry planet then protecting the time line

Animated was pure escalation of issues intill prime had to face megatron

While prime dosnt have a over all stable story and suffers for it though each mini story is good, it seems the writers are to scared to do anything permanent

As for bay vurse well each on there own is okay but as a whole its a mess

I'm sorry but in my opinon i just don't care for how they handled the Maximals at all. Cheetor though was actually great but pails in comparison in front of Jetstorm.

I can't call Beast Machines well-written, solely for how it handled being in the same continuity as BW. Characters were changed for the worse, and the writers were instructed by DiDio to "not give a shit about continuity."

And NOW look what DiDio did with DC :/

Unicron trilogy is the worst IMO. Prime just brings good ideas that are not used to it full potential. The writers are like kids playing with toys. One day there this story the next a whole new one.

I hate Ratchet's "I needed that," and I hate all off Wheeljack's dialogue and most of Optimus Prime's. I also don't like how sometimes they have Starscream tell the dumb audience what the joke was.

Like, I'll watch, notice something funny, laugh to myself, and be ready to move on, but then Starscream or some other character from the show literally tells us what the joke was and then I'm like ugh.

But I don't think it's the worst written show.

no, i think it is a pretty good show. i don't think it is the best transformers show ever. or even the best one on tv, but i still enjoy it. however, i do think that the writers just got bored of the whole "war" thing. so they decided to do something different. thus why we had a lot of episodes, which didn't really go anywhere.

and now we have a story coming up, that will be hopefully totally different.

so i think the writers were just bored with having one side fight the other, and the autobots usually winning.

you can only do that for so long. So i assume they are just bored of the whole thing. it's been going for almost 30 years.

so i am really glad that they are attempting something new. hopefully this goes better, then the last few times they have tried something new. with Beast Machines, *beast wars, was really the same war plot. just with beasts*. and then they tried something a bit different with animated. where the decepticons felt more like pirates, or bandits, with the autobots being the ruling class.

It seems like G1 did some things better than Transformers Prime and Transformers Prime does some things better than G1 so which one is better kind of depends on which aspect you are looking at.

For example G1 had more Decepticon characters. Way more fun watching Rumble, Blitzwing, or the Constucticons fight the Autobots and have to retreat than watching the Autobots scrap large numbers of nameless Vehicons week after week.

On the other hand Transformers Prime tries to bring a bit of sanity to their cartoon physics so the Autobots have to use the space bridge instead of being able to drive across the Atlantic in under two hours because they have little skies on the bottom of their car mode.

Just comes down to what you are looking for on any particular day since both shows have a long list of merits in their favor but both shows have elements that make them less than perfect.

No, it's not the worst. But I would put it down among the bottom.
