So I'm starting to look more into the Rider figuarts. Only one I own, think I said this already, is Black RX, and I have Wizard preordered on Amazon. There's a hobby ship at a mall a couple towns over and my gf was talking about wanting to get me something from there for Christmas as they have Gundam kits, figuarts, etc. and those are a couple of things I've been wanting to start collecting. I have no idea what kinda selection they have, or how their prices or, nor do I know what she is wanting to spend. Just was kinda wondering what people might recommend picking up for someone that doesn't really have any figures, and outside of Masked Rider back in the day and now Wizard, hasn't really watched any of the Kamen Rider shows. I know I'd LIKE Skull or Fang Joker, based on design, but beyond that I'm kinda at a loss..
I would have said to go with the ones from series you've watched, but since you haven't watched any, I'd suggest going by what suit design you like the best. Personally, I love the OOOs and Ryuki designs, so those were no brainers for me. The shows were also pretty fun. Hope this helps! Edit: Oh and what are you waiting for? Go watch some Toku!
Hello gents, I'm confused and I hope one of you can set me straight on this; I'm really new at getting gashapon toys, especially from HLJ, so I'm wondering, what the difference between this single figure and the "1 Box 10 pcs" figure is. Does this mean there's 10 single figures randomly selected or just one blind packed figure? I assume the latter. My confusion is mostly in the wording, and of course, the price. I'm not sure if you folks are into the Kamen Rider Wizard gashapon toys, but I think some of them are swell. Hope to hear from someone. Sorry If I get wildly off topic. Thanks for any help.
It's all right there in the product description. The first one you linked to is the deluxe toy, while the second one is the (Smaller and less detailed) randomly packed figure. However, you get a box of 10, with a random ratio of Garuda, Kraken, and Unicorns.
Wow, so I went to my comic store only to find out my Ichigo and Zeronos orders had come in. Of course, I could only afford to pick up one of them right now, so I went with Ichigo. He is pretty cool, but I am disappointed that he cannot be posed in the henshin pose his is shown on the box, as his arm cannot stretch out across his chest like that.
I know most folks have jumped ship on over to TN, but I have the OOO's Driver, the Zeronos Driver, and a good bit of other rider stuff up for sale if you would like to take a look. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/items...ers-revoltech-rider-sentai-roleplay-toys.html
I get a bit nostalgic every time this thread is bumped. I guess everyone moved over to TN, but I wish this thread were still being used. I really liked how all the discussions about each show and the toys were fast paced and all in one place. It was fairly tight knit for a little while; and while I know I was lurking more than commenting near the end I'm sad its pretty much done.
Yeah. It's kind of a shame. I remember when the primary reason I came to TFW was for this thread. But TN is slowly starting to get into it's groove. Admittedly, the regulars of that forum are few, but it's still rather fun.
Yeah, it is a shame that this thread has become so inactive with the advent of TN. This used to be the thread I'd always be excited to see someone post in. I still remember when we overtook the Macross thread for most posts in a topic on the Toyark . Good times.
Lets bring it back then. I finally got around to starting Wizard and am now eight episode in how are you guys feeling about it? I'm enjoying it so far, but I can't help feeling its very generic. The characters all feel as though the writers just had a check list of required attributes ie the rider has to have some odd quirk so Haruto loves donuts, the rider has to have some slogun so he tells people that he'll be they're hope, and so on. Its the same way with plenty of the hesei riders, but this one feels a bit forced imo. Whether its just the writing or the inability for the main actor to feel genuine idk. Upgrades are coming too fast as well. I'm still enjoying it though, here's hoping the plot does some really interesting things. Any new purchases lately? Admittedly I got bored of figuarts a while back and sold them all, but I'm still in love with SIC and Kiwami Tamashii. Being one of the few people who seemed to like the SIC Decade design, I was pretty thrilled to get my hands on KT Decade last week. The paint work isn't great and mine came with 2 of the same upper hip(its not noticeable visually, but effects the thigh swivel a little. I ended up ordering a 2nd figure because of this), but the sculpt is superb as always with KT's.
I'm likening Wizard to TF Prime - it's not the best thing, and it's got its flaws for sure, but it's entertaining for what it is. Definitely love the flashy fighting, and Haruto does have his moments.
Yeah it's got its flaws, but I feel that it's slowly improving which is a good thing. As for recent purchases? I'm waiting for my WizarDriver to get here, I got the second candy toy set a while back in preparation for said belt. It's going to be my first Rider belt, and the only negative thing I've heard is that the chrome on the hand isn't that durable. So I'm excited about that.
Wizard has it's flaws. Yep. I've gone on and on about it, too. Haruto is uninteresting (And shows no interest in his show), the characters are bland and pointless (Except for Shunpei, the only character worth watching), the villains are generic (All they need is to swap their cave for a death fortress), the Phantoms themselves are irredeemable (Thus they can never have them be the focus of the story), and the Characters of the Week are far, far superior in terms of writing and characterization than Haruto and the main cast (Kizaki and his story being the best, Imo).
Uh... I don't think we are watching the same show. Shunpei is one of the worst Kamen Rider characters in the history of Kamen Rider. He is absolutely useless. Nearly as useless as Keitaro from 555. Haruto is badass. Sure, he isn't as fun as Kentaro, but he is serious and is not afraid to get his butt beat. The designs of the show are pretty cool, the concepts are great, and the stories have been interesting. It is nice to see Wizard already has two formidable enemies this early in the show. The only thing it is missing is having Haruto unable to save someone from becoming a Phantom. We need something like that to advance his character even moreso than they are doing. However, like all Kamen Rider series, the show will most likely get moving in its plot the moment the second rider makes his appearance.
I was thinking the same thing, I remember Fourze REALLY kicked into gear when Meteor showed up. I'm also sure that at some point he will fail to rescue someone and they will turn into a phantom. Matrix said that the phantoms are irredeemable, so were the imagins aside from Ryoutaro's imagin and Deneb.
