So I'm watching Legacy on the Hub, and I noticed after Megatron looks comically shocked for several seconds at Prime having just cleaved a mountain in two, they show a clip of Optimus glancing up at the Nemesis. It appears that Optimus winks at Megatron, but it could just be a shadow passing over his optic. I don't have a clip... Did anyone else notice something like this?
Most likely just a shadow passing over his optic from the lighting/angle. Or that thrill of utter power, of total superiority, that flowed through him as the Star Saber gleamed with power and destroyed the mountain, influenced his mind just enough for him to suddenly feel like he should do something, anything, to really compound his new advantage. And so he winked, a minor action yet delightfully cheeky and cocky. That would have been funny
I think if Optimus were to wink, it would have been showcased more, since Optimus really isn't a winker..
It would be bad ass if he did. Or not even a wink, maybe just a head nod. Just any taunt at the scared Megatron. But knowing this Optimus, he didn't.
It was brought up and discussed in the Legacy episode thread. Some thought he did wink, others said it was a glint. I felt if Prime's don't party...they darn sure don't wink....not a Cons anyway. So doubtful. Would have been funny if he had winked...it was one of the few times Optimus had the upper hand...and knew it.
That'd give Prime Optimus WAY too much personality. I highly doubt they'd risk even a slightly interesting moment for Optimus like that.
Just watched Legacy again at around 19 minutes or so. It's not a wink it's just him blinking. Although it would have been hilarious if he had winked given Megatrons rather humorous expression.
That was my thought. "Lol he winked! Wait...Prime wouldn't wink." Good to know I'm not the only one who saw it, though.
To think of Optimus pulled that off out of his normal boring persona, with a wink. A kind of small point of view, but rather odd.
i was completely convinced that he winked, and i was so excited for him being such a cheeky badass for that split second. alas, if you look closely, he's definetly blinking with both eyes and you just can't see it as much on the other eye. ...personally, i refuse to acknowledge this fact, and continue to believe he is winking everytime i rewatch the episode
I have watched that shot hundreds of times and it was a blink.. it's just kinda hard to see his other eye and the shot was a bit fuzzy on Megatron's monitor.
If Optimus winked Megatron would crap in his pants and glitch and half of us would probablly crap in our pants and realize that we're all screwed now.
I suggest you take your yaoi goggles off. I did not see any winking I even triple watched the scene you are referring to. Although there is a moment when a shadow passes his object it remains lit and thus suggesting that the eye was never closed. Thou do enjoy your fangirlsm, I certainly do..
