I enjoyed the episode, yes it seems like the show is getting away from the main characters for whatever reason and it is a bit annoying, but it was no poisoned snapple episode.

People like to label Corruption as the all time worst TCW episode, but I personally think that honor goes to Shadow Warrior.

I liked it, but mainly for the little bits.

The idea of that little Colonel using an R2 unit as a tank was inspired. Though, that guy made me think of Dig'Em Frog.

I love astromechs. I got lots of them.

As for the ep? It was interesting. It just proves not all battles are fought in space, or with mercenaries, or with Jedi, or with clones, or with neutral systems.

    "Servant/Service" Droids vs "Battle" Droids.

Anyone notice that even though he was not the main focus of the ep, R2-D2 is still a bad@$$ warrior?

He quietly does what he's told, and not told; to save the lives of friends, teammates, and the galaxy throughout the entire franchise. He fights with what's he got; and most of the time, he doesn't have much to work with.

    ^This.

R2-D2 is also always one of my favorite characters in Star Wars and I actually like the fact that him and and the droids get some focus for this episode and I enjoy the episode for it. That plus I see it as one of those "Lower Deck" episodes of the series. No different than some of the episodes that are Clone Trooper-centric.

For the sake of variety it was nice to see. The commander/colonel character was a bit goofy in design, but that's kind of a moot argument when it comes to aliens in Star Wars. I just hope they don't get too comfortable with this kind of episode in the future. Once in a while is ok, in small doses.

I'am done watching this shitty season i mean half the season is over and the only good episode was the season opener besides that it gets worse and worse and worse. I guess this is the last season and they just don't give a fuck! People complain about the TF Movies or the Star Wars prequels you know something those movies are actually EXCITING and stuff happens. This season on the other hand seems to be written for 3 year olds. I would rather sit threw Batman and Robin twenty times before watching another episode. I think The DIC Gi Joe series was more serious and better written then this season! Star Wars popularity is going down right now and this season is a disgrace to the franchise and is not helping at all. So screw this i am done!

I'm impressed in this episode as an artistic endeavor in that the production staff really doesn't hold back on doing experimental episodes like these. It calls back to the crash landing on Tatooine at the beginning of Episode IV as well as homages Johnny Depp's isolation in that purgatory-like-space in Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End. And in the same way as those two scenes, it kind of calls back (in a superficial, childrens'-television-programming way) to existentialist works like Sartre's play "No Exit".

That said, I'm not sure it works so well as actual entertainment

I'm pretty sure the second half of the season will be better. They're saving all the good stuff.

My god that was BORING! I think I even liked The Gathering more than this one. That makes A Sunny Day In The Void my least favorite episode this season. Please tell me that commando will appear next week and also that this is a three parter, not a four parter. Get to Maul manipulating Death Watch and Ahsoka VS Ventress already.

Oh, the astromech thing is ongoing...

The planet's strange. Ice but it's hot. Bright sunny orange skies but there's no sun.

One thing that bothered me is, when in the comet field, the ship is able to roll to the right before the R2s get even the most basic amount of power online. Unless I'm missing something.

I thought last week's episode was bad,but this episode was even worse.

I hate that all these storylines have to be three or four parts. What a waste.

Here I thought this season was going to be all about Maul and Savage.

This show has a tendency to trick you, we were told that Cad Bane would have a huge presence in season 2, but only appears for the first 3 episodes.

I was looking forward to this season more than any other because of the whole Maul/Oppress thing also.

But you know what, to be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, again for it's production value (the animation, the music, the tone). It was very...cinematic, actually. That scene with the birds, that was just surreal.

When I look back on this season, it's different and certainly not what I expected, but in the end I'm actually enjoying the way they are expanding the CW universe and cast. Sometimes it's nice to get away from the in-your-face action we all love and kind of build up to that. I mean, we know the kick-ass stuff is coming and a build up is better than just throwing it out there sometimes.

    So yeah, liked it.

We were also led to believe that season 3 would be all out crazy with Opress and crazy space battles. For the second half maybe...but for the rest we got politics, tea and cake.

As great as the trailers for each season are, I feel as though they can sometimes overshadow the seasons themselves.

I really don't understand these filler episodes and all I keep thinking about is what are the jedi doing in the meantime. Like, what battles are we missing to watch droids stumble around with a green smurf?

Maybe I missed it entirely, but I recently came across this trailer:

The Clone wars season 5 Darth Maul megatrailer - YouTube

While some of it, like the first 33 seconds are old, they tease the Maul/Savage plots and one hell of a Sith showdown, which is what I watch the Clone Wars for!

I liked it. It felt like a Twilight Zone episode with Astromech droids -- works for me.

Regardless of the lack real action, adventure, and focus on the main characters in any saga...there will always be "side-mis-adventures" like this.

Positives: (as much reaching as I can get)
-we've been introduced to a new planet on which can be used for future games
-once again, as excitable as he is, R2 is still cool headed enough to lead a group of "ragtag" droids...probably even if the other astromechs didn't vote for him
-fans of Pit Droids, other than their few moments of screen time in Episode 1, and various background appearances throughout this series, that this one has been given enough screen time to satisfy people's curiosity about these guys.

As old as Colonel "Dig 'Em" Frog is, do you think this is a jab at those behind a desk all day, who have no idea what front line is all about?

Also, if you were there, would you have salvaged what you can from the 2nd ship to see if can fix your ship? Or was that 2nd ship too "weather-worn" to be of any use?

Lastly, R2...one of the galaxy's greatest heroes, probably in the top 10 droids in the galaxy in terms of experience..(Number 1 probably goes to that droid from the last story arc that has trained younglings for a 1000 years)...manages to find "civilization" on a barren world.

Since I don't speak astromech beeps, do you guys think he told the others that followed him:

-"Crap, I thought we ditched them."
-or "Oh good, they made it."
    -or "Lucky bastards..."
-or "How did they find us?"
-or "I hope they don't slow us down"
-or "I miss my Jedi companions"
-or "These guys are worse than my friend 3-PO"

    :lol

Sounds like I can skip this one.

Sounds like I can skip them all from now on.
