This whole "no shape shifting" was just an excuse to not have Soundwave be a tapedeck. It was clear from the first time I saw the Prime concept that some mass shifting was gonna have to happen to get that much robot hidden away in a normal sized truck.

Well, I'd say that the hand-morphing-to-guns thing is not entirely set in stone for the whole of the bots.

Mind that the Prime concept drawings had a double-barreled arm-mounted thing once, an arm cannon the second and the more finished CGI model as seen from the Magic Clothes Fair photo had a "normal" hand-held BFG hooked with a powercord to his back.

The Jazz comic adaptation design drawings had him dual weild two small handguns in one of the designs.

Either way its a neat pic. =)

I like big guns and I cannot lie, the other brothers can't deny, when a bot goes east with an itty bitty peice...Well, you get the idea.

That does appear to be a really early sketch. His head looks a lot different from that. A lot of the newer things have shown that they seem to be moving away from the idea of morphing guns.

The morphing arms are pretty cool, not a fan of Bumblebee having them though. Always though of him as the crafty ,sneaky little shit who would steal the guns from others hands.

The movie will be fun either way tho.

Looks like it's made of car parts from his back (in particular the engine), like with that Prime concept.

Actually Prime's bot mode can easily fit into the truck, it's just his transformation won't be similar to the classic design. Instead of his hips being the front tires, they're near the rear wheels. Basically his front wheels become his feet, the back end of the truck opens up and rearranges to become his legs, the sides and back part of the cab become his arms, and the nose of the cab splits to become part of his torso and part of his lower legs.

Once you look at the designs compared to the alt modes, the basic transformations start to make sense. Though many of the finer details are still hard to figure out, that's kind of the point of a complex design, you actually have to think to figure it out. Once we see them in motion, they'll make much more sense.

Edit: Also I heard that many of their guns will be stored on the bot's body and 'transform' onto the arm when they 'reach back' or what have you.

Almost forgot the cab shoulder blades. At least I think, unless they are from his engine cover. Anyways, BB has definantley changed for the better.

:drunk  And know for the drinking, *gulp* BB ya lookin even better with every ingested amount of liquid courage rofl j/k. But seriously It may be his engine. Or maybe its like carrying a gun on his back, like having a frog for a sword he can pull it out with his hand/arm and transform it into the cannon......SWEET!!!!

Not real sure about the Morphing thing. I thought that there was no morphing but "transforming", thus the title Transformers.......but the drawings look good. Gun is a bit big for BB.
