I never played both games, I've seen demos of others playing on youtube. Therefore my real questions is I read on Wiki the plot of both games and that their war that's going on, on Cybertron is before their arrival on Earth, so are both games connected to Transformers Prime? Does anybody know? Thanks
There loosely connected to most continuities borrowing small parts from prime but high moon wanted it to link to G1.
Despite High Moon's apparent infatuation with the G1 cartoon (or specifically the '86 movie), the general plot is taken from Hasbro's 'Binder of Revelation' story bible, which is also the basis for Transformers Prime, hence why the basic plot of WFC also shows up in the Exodus novel and the flashback in the Prime Season 1 finale. So the end result is a game depicting events from Prime's backstory, but is constantly referencing G1 in everything from aesthetics to dialogue (even when it makes zero sense out of context, I'm looking at you 'first we crack the shell...'). If you really want to, some people like to convince themselves the games are totally a prequel to the G1 cartoon, but that'd entail ignoring swathes of stuff, including the first episode, that is completely contradictory to the games. In the end, Hasbro's official position is that the games are set before Prime, whilst High Moon's busy referencing both G1 and Prime designs. Draw your own conclusions as to whether you want to consider it a Prime prequel or a standalone kind-of G1 thing.
It's more like a Prequel to High-Moon's own version of G1, as opposed to the Marvel, Sunbow and IDW versions of G1.
In FOC you find an audio log describing how he ended up in stasis lock after a another battle with Megatron. Said log is found under a big Omega Supreme head which may or may not be a statue, although I would say it probably is one.
WFC/FOC are supposed to be a starting point for ALL series. they use elements from Prime simply because they like them (which is why they used Prime CJ's head so he and BB would look a little more different than their WFC toys). and being the G1/'86 movie fans they are, they also used elements from those as well. regardless though, Hasbro wants the video game series to loosely tie into every series as what happened on Cybertron
How is the multiplayer in escalation? I used to love that mode in the old one until people stopped playing it and it was difficult to find matches. Is the multiplayer still alive and strong?
Here's my opinion on the two; WFC Campaign:7+ Multiplayer:8 escalation:9 FOC Campaign:8+ Multiplayer:9 escalation:5
It may not be as good but its still great here are the changes.... Positives 4 Characters per map - A healing, turret, ammo and shield guy (this was done so there was more teamwork Random boxes have been added Each player can choose there own difficulty. There are a TON of new enemies to fight and they can differ from map to map. (E.g leapers on one map insecticons on the other) Negatives Waves are limited to 15 4 Characters per map There is only one map with flyers
I'm a huge Escalation fan myself and made it into the top 20 for a time. These are my comparisons between the two: -In WFC, enemies are rather dumb so you're able to stomp the ever loving shit out of hoardes of em in a team or single handedly. FoC offers enemies who hide behind objects, don't transform into anything, and more often than not spawn right behind you without warning. -In WFC with two special abilities on tap and the ability to equip mines/grenades/heal grenades, you're a total badass piece of machinery with the capabilities to lay waist to a legion of enemy forces. In FoC, you'll need a team who has a clue as to what's going on (which is rare) or you will die horribly and quickly. If you do have a competent team, you'll be crawling over each other to get kills being that the waves are limited. Also, you only have one special ability and only thermal mines are available. -In WFC, you can choose from a HUGE list of characters with a variety of weapons, modes, abilities, etc. In FoC, don't be the last guy to choose a character or you'll get stuck with the shield guy. -In WFC, you can speed across the maps in vehicle form to make a dramatic escape of awesomeness with vehicle abilities adding to your alt modes agility. In FoC, there are no vehicle abilities and the map is full of obstacles to get stuck on. You're better off just staying in robot mode and running everywhere. -WFC allows you to buy weapons or other equipment for your team mates. No such luck in FoC, they're on their own. I have been playing FoCs Escalation these days but it's not near as addicting and fun as WFCs version. I'd have to say that FoC is far more aggravating due to the fact that getting stuck in a team of morons who never use their abilities or contribute to the team leaves you going solo which is near impossible.
