    Anyone concerned as to how
Shockwave considered Jihaxus's best student? Did they mean him pre-operation? merely as someone who took the scientist's work and expanded upon it? just wondering how that still factors in

^ I wouldn't rule out that they had later contact, or even earlier (some of the bots are pretty old).

He's running the Jhiaxus' Academy; I assume that means that he was an understudy before the Ark trip happened.

    Jhiaxus calls
    Shockwave
as 'my greatest student' on RID #10. Heck, even the name of school is
    Jhiaxian
    Academy of Advanced Technology!
I asuume he was a president or chief professor or something of the academy as well as being a senator. (In Korea, people calls such a people as 'Polifessor(compound of politics and professor)' )

The Senators appear to be the elites in Cybertronian society - keep in mind that they aren't actually elected as far as we can tell.

I'd equate the Senate to something like the House of Lords - a body made up of the richest and most influential Cybertronians. As the direct understudy of Jhiaxus,
    Shockwave
would have had a lot of political capital in the wake of the Ark's disappearance, as he was connected to some fairly prestigious institutions.

Heck - given Jhiaxus' tendency for experimentation, it wouldn't surprise me if his pupil's "students" were in fact relics of his master's old experiments. After all, the whole "doing something to a 'bot because I can and seeding it into the populace to encourage evolution of the species".... that's a Jhiaxus move.

I wonder how Swerve react at Red's 'suicide'. He has just managed to get over Rung's incident!

You just don't like the fact, that there aren't enough S1/2 guys in it, or that they are written differently to the cartoon. You said it many times before, when you didn't like one comic or another. You just want the most popular G1 guys to be in it. So no wonder you look at MTMTE, see Swerve, Whirl or Chromdome and is like "man, what a stupid boring comic. Why do they even bother with it?". Just give it up dude. We know that song already.

This issue was good enough to make me try to sign up to this forum and discover I've already been signed up, just so I could say AAAAARGH.

Firstly, someone was saying that Skids could be a sleeper agent. I think double agent. The winch thing is a giveaway, in that Glitch's ability was to render non-sentient machines inert. Skids stopped it on purpose and used Glitch as an excuse! My theory, anyway.

As far as the issue as a whole, it blew me away. Roberts is an incredible writer and each issue has been better than the last. Despite being a massive TF fan for life, I recognise I'm still very much an amateur when it comes to TF lore and detailed knowledge of the characters and incidents (I haven't read Eugenesis, for example) but the fact that he makes every storyline, every page a treat for all levels of fandom is something for which I'll be eternally grateful to the man.

I don't read RID (can only afford one comic a month) so I guess the last page reveal means I need to get caught up on that title, as well?

Oh, and best line of the issue was Swerve's "that's not how you spell... most of those words, actually"!

I'm suprised there's not more talk about the Alarm sounding at the end, looks like Tarn and the DJD boys have finally caught up!

Yeah, I was just wondering about that.
Something else not mentioned in this topic is the appearance of Macabre. Thought it was kinda cool to see him again

Ironfist, Macabre, a different Crosscut (who looks particularly familiar ;) ) This is just proof Roberts loves us and knows we love LSOTW!

What's hilarious is that the reveal at the end completely supersedes the thing we WOULD all be talking about!
Considering next month's cover is Tailgate inspecting Fulcrum I'd say its the Scavengers! JOY!

Oh yes, very good idea. After all, we know that there was a population explosion under Nova Prime, Jihaxus was his scientific advisor, I'm sure he wouldn't be able to resist a little tinker here, a tamper there. And as his student and successor, Shockers would certainly want to track any of the products of that particular little experiment down. Yes, definitely, I'm liking that theory. It gives a proper purpose to the whole X-Bot academy thing rather than just a plot device. Good work Tekno.

Welcome (back, I guess) to the boards. It seems this particular issue is bringing many lurkers out of the darkness!

I like your reasoning on the Skids front, but I still don't want him to be bad, so I'm going to hold out hope that he's being controlled somehow. Perhaps being a "superlearner" also makes it easy to give him post hypnotic suggestions?

Another thing struck me as odd, though: Skids hasn't been portrayed as particularly religious, has he? And yet, he has a Matrix "tattoo", on his face? The way he's tapping it early on, and the way it's highlighted but not clear until Pax notices it makes me think that there's more to it.

Jhiaxus and the rest of Nova Prime's crew had been lost for eons by the time of Shadowplay, so Shockwave definitely studided under Jhiaxus pre-Empurata ritual. Seems that Shockwave, as Jhiaxus's "greatest student", was given authority over the JAAT when the Ark went missing.

And I'm liking the idea that the outliers are a result of Jhiaxus's machinations during "Nova Prime's population augmentation programme", as it was refered to last issue. I don't think we've heard the last of that and the whole 'forged or constructed cold' thing...
