Not to jump in defense of BW, but...

Golden disks were a huge reveal in what they trully were around 30 episodes into the show. Prime has 52 episodes and not one artifact has had such a backstory.

Stasis Pods were new entries into the fold. Each time there was a stasis pod around in BW I was excited and anticipating what would come out of it.

Random bits of cybertron technology were usually useful to each base [sentinel shields, cannons, and so on].

Prime's relic hunts are mostly weapons that get used once or twice. Hardly exciting in my opinion.

While I agree with you whole-heartedly, what is this a complaint about?

Given that both swords had MacGuffins named Star Saber I really am not sure.

Pay no mind to the negative responses on these forums (when I say negative, I mean those who will flat out call this show terrible and laugh their ass off at you). Those people are either trolls or just really ignorant fans.

People say calling a show "good" is an opinion but it's really not. Good shows are determined by how deep they execute a plot line and how aesthetics like voice acting and character interaction are done.
This show has hit all points very well. There is a clear commitment by the creators as they will to flesh out all characters and use them for their own spotlight in the ever-changing plot.
An individual can say they don't like this show but he/she can't call it terrible.

It writes its characters and emotions very well, but story-wise it is lacking. Nothing is taken for the long run and everything is episodic.

I love this show, but I still feel that Beast Wars is the pinnacle of great plot, great characters, and overall great story arcs. If I had to pick a batch of good guys to hang out with, I'd pick BW's Maximals every time over TFP's Autobots. And again, that's not to say that TFP is a poor show- I love it- but I think Beast Wars is the better of the two.

We got backstory to Arcee's past to why she was guilt and revenge driven in the fist couple of episodes,We got the backstory of how Optimus and Megatron came to be and started their respective factions,Smokescreen with his past with Alpha Trion and the mystery of why he was chosen by Alpha Trion for some reason which can be explained later on in the show and we even got some backstory of Bulkhead and Wheeljack. And the main plot of the show is that the Decepticons are trying to take over Earth and the Autobots aren't going to let that happen and on the way they use relics and clues about how close both Earth and Cybertron are.

And nothing happens? What about the events of Season 2 leading into the base being destroyed and the events that lead up into that moment? Did that not scream changing the status quo to you?

That hasn't been explained yet which we may see the reason for how the plot of Season 3 began. Parhaps meeting Shockwave up again for example?

We've heard of how the Wreckers were doing during Bulk's time with Team Prime. If that doens't count we'll know next season with the likely arrival of Ultra Magnus.

For one thing he's proven to have good cunning, resources, and skill that has even Megatron impressed. Not to mention he proved quite a good leader in most of Season 1. Which later he used to get the Omega keys and get Megatron's favour back.

Dude they don't have any contact with the other Autobots not from Earth which as they would want more reinforcements they don't have the tech to do so. And they're trying to survive. They can't just stage a plan with little soldiers they have. It's too risky.

It has ok writing. It's not the best but it is, in my opinion, one of the best. Season 1 was awesome but season 2 was meh.

The TFP forums is pretty much like this since Season 2 began. You'll get used to it in time.

And yes while this season has more shortcomings then in the last season it still does have it's good moments and the finale was certainly one to remember.

    My thoughts exactly.

Yes. Yes. Transformers Prime is by far the best Transformers show ever. Love the writing, the characters are perfect, especially Optimus and Arcee. I love it. Can't wait for Season 3.
All other TF shows sucked. Especially Beast Wars, I did not like it at all.

I like the cut of your jib. "I like it better" is a factual statement of your opinion. I'm glad you're enjoying the show that much.

However, what others are saying, "It is the best-written TF show" is wildly wrong. People like to say that opinions can't be wrong, but a structural engineer will tell you that you can't build a bridge out of cotton candy, and someone with a degree in english literature (me) will tell you that TFP's writing is not very good at all. It is completely possible to have a more qualified opinion than others when it comes to assessing creative works.

TFP had the potential to be one of the best written TF shows, but it isn't.

Whatever the reaosn is still kind of up in the air, whether Hasbo stepped in and cut off a lot of the writers freedom, or the writers are just hacks, the unfortunate reality is the show has failed in it's story telling.

I suppose if given a chance, Beast Hunters might pull a amazing story out of it's ass and save the series, but given the concept for season 3 is that the Autobots all basically become Dragon hunters, honestly I'm not seeing that happen.

It's can't get any worse than season 2. It can only stay the same.
