If it's not news, why did it get front paged? :)

NO ONE goes to Thailand to sight-see. They go there to bone little kids.

I'm not saying that that's why they're there.

I'm not saying that that's NOT why they're there.

    I'm just saying.

Oh, I can see it now, Bumblebee stuck in traffic on Sukhumvit Road...by the way Bay, any TF character with distinct red coloring may not be popular if there's a political protest going on!
Hey, didn't Bay say he was gonna bring TF4 into space or some crap?

Probably because a scene might take place in Thailand? Or they need to use Thailand as a double for another city? Or use it as a backdrop for some background plates? That's...that's usually how filming works. ;)

With any luck it'll be something robot-related, rather than "Teenage boy and teenage girl character spend their class trip there".

Hopefully it's just a scene or 2 that's shot there. Not the whole movie.

Poor admin judgement? It's an article written by the same people who not only has an article called "How Zac Efron packs on muscle", but promotes it as an editors choice. It is a rumour about something that a tabloid press speculates MIGHT happen to get more viewers, not news.

News is reporting facts - this is speculation.

News is rumors as well. Look at what happened with Wahlberg.

No it's not - there is an obvious distinction. There is a reason why newspapers report on news and tabloids on rumours.

Just because some rumours are later proven true (and at that point becomes news if they have any newsvalue) doesn't mean that all rumours should be treated as if they are true and newsworthy - most of them are made up.

In this story all we know is that one person who is involved in finding a location for his studio attended a sales meeting onsite, in a group of other people responsible for the exact same things, but for other studios and other countries. It doesn't mention any outcome of that meeting - thats pure fiction at this point.

Nor does it mention any of the other locations that he has visited for similar meetings, both now and in the past.

This is unsubstantiated to the umpteenth degree - it is not news.

You can disagree with me if you like - but that won't change the fact that you are wrong in this regard.

Not at all - I don't disagree at all with it being frontpaged - I merely disagree with it being news as opposed to a rumour. Wether or not it should be frontpaged is neither here or there both news and rumours should be - I just point out that there is a difference between the two.
