I'm a huge fan of DBZ and have watched both DBZ and GT. Been planning on getting the remastered version, but always spend the dough on Transformers instead. $300 for dvd's is a bit much for me atm lol.

On Mayumi Tanaka's official blog, she has revealed that they're recording for the Buu arc of Kai which is going to be broadcast outside Japan. She says that now they're doing episodes in which Goten and Trunks try to participate in Tenkaichi-budokai as Mighty Mask.

Ah, I wondered why Kai totally skipped over the Buu saga and then started showing GT on Nick.

Hopefully Ocean Group Studios is taking their time because they want to release the whole show together?

 

I used to be into DBZ...but I grew weary of it, and of the fans even moreso. It may have been passable back in the day when it was what you would call an "entrance anime", but there are so many other, far better shows out there to watch so it just doesn't stand up, and not just because of how little story it's packing in so many episodes.

And with the Dragonbox volumes fetching such absurd prices on the second hand market? Forget it.

 

Hell yeah! But I like DragonBall better. Akira Toriyama also had a anime/manga called Dr. Slump, now that's a hard friggin DVD to find!

You should try watching Kai.

 

I am infact a huge fan of DBZ. I realize that there's the DBZ kai out, but I sincerely dislike some of the voices they went with for some of the characters. I much prefer the voices from the original FUNimation run over the Kai versions..

 

Let me take a few guesses... Gohan, Bulma, Jeice and Android 18? Any of those?

Well, I much prefer the real voices over ANY of the dubs. So booyah.

 

I would like a continuation of Dragonball Z if Toriyama will write over Dragonball Gt and act like it never happened. Like what we're getting with Regneration One writing over G2. I believe the sci fi and technological aspects of GT were something the franchise didn't need,

 

I was never really a fan when the old DBZ was run on CN years ago, but my younger brother watched it, so I always caught episodes here and there.

I started watching Kai, though, and actually really liked it. There's actually a story in there to enjoy when the characters aren't charging up their powers for 30 minutes straight.  

I'd rather watch DBZ Kai than a lot of the pretentious anime that gets shoveled to western audiences these days.

GT still bores me, though...
