When Megatron reported to StarScream about the Autobots' invasion and ordered to send some troopers, then SS replied "Actually, Lord Megatron...", I was expecting him to tell about new rebellion.

 

Probably. I hope he'll somehow redeem himself, however.

 

I'd imagine he'll stay loyal throughout season 3, and at the end of the series he'll make one last attempt at usurping Megatron while everything is going crazy, and Megs will terminate him.

 

I think he will betray Megatron one way or another, it's his archetype.

But something bad needs to happen between them again. In season one Megatron treated Starscream like shit no matter what Starscream did and that's mostly why he went rouge. Right now Megatron plays nice with Starscream and it's really clever, throwing him a few bones to keep him loyal like that. He accepted Starscream back, choose him over his 'beloved' Dreadwing, allowed him his T-Cog back, left him in command- and Starscream really didn't deserve that after deserting, trying assassination, stealing energon etc. You can see that in the last episodes Starscream is constantly shocked with Megatron's generosity. They would really need to go back to psychical and emotional abuse for Starscream to retaliate, because right now Megatron has Starscream in debt, grateful and dependent of him and that might just work better at inspiring loyalty than treating him like garbage. That's something the Autobots should have done and now it's biting them in the ass.

But I'd like Starscream to betray again in a different manner that he did before- not simply because greed and ambition.

 

It's pretty damn hard to predict now that 1. He's Starscream, but... 2. He's learned it's pretty damn hard to actually do anything involving usurping Megatron.

 

This. I thought after all that Megatron saw in SS's mind, he would finally destroy him and have loyal and faithful Dreadwing stand by his side.

I think he will betray Megatron at some point again but I hope he doesn't actually leave the Decepticons and I don't think it will be any time soon. Being on his own like he has this season seemed to teach him a thing or two about appreciating what he had with the Decepticons.

Im sure he will, but it would probably be waaaaaay into season 3 or 4. hopefully that would be megs last straw and we could have a "Megatron, is that you?" "heres a hint" moment.

Agreed...Of course he will....he just needs the right moment so he can have a greater chance of success.

I would like to see him finally grow away from that at this point.

He spent the first two season trying to overthrow Megatron, and though he came close a few times, he fell so very short.

Rather than repeating everything thing he ever did in G1 or following incarnations, why not break away and make a new Starscream? As far as I'm concerned, Transformers Prime already fulfilled their Starscream betrayal quota.

It would be nice if Starscream remained loyal to him and the Decepticons cause (which he has been) from now until the show ends.

 

Or how about Screamer betrays Megatron... Because he realizes that Megatron will keep putting the very survival of the Cybertronian race at stake for his own ambitions.

 

It's the core of his character, so yeah, he'll inevitably betray Megatron again. Though he might actually think about it, and do things a bit more...covertly.

Really? This is Starscream were talking about. Of course he will, after all it is his nature.

 

Starscream is a punk. Megatron would have to be extremely vulnerable at some point for him to risk it. I believe it was season one when they were drilling and Megatron was briefly caved in. Starscream wanted to betray him but felt like the situation wasn't set in stone enough.

 

just as the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening, ALL starscreams betray their megatrons. one way or another.
