Just got a chance to follow the coverage of the storm on the news.
    For what it's worth.
Best wishes for those affected by this storm.
    Take care.

I have a cuz who lives in Manhattan. She said it was no big deal, but then again she's one of those who people who could have an anvil drop on them and not care.

Still have power here where I live, the rain picked up and the wind is blowing but it ain't that bad at the moment otherwise. Could get worse in a few hours though, we'll see.

Also netkid, when you said about the Warwick Mall flooding, that brought back memories to when me and my family went to Warwick in 2010 and I remember the mall was shut down mostly because of flood damage. I forgot all about that.

Went dark about half an hour ago. Power tried three trees to come back on but finally kicked.

    Blargh.

Yeah it was such a mess. It took a long time to clear out the water, and then remove all the mold.

I wish I had known such a result would have happened. There were some games I wanted to buy at FYE and a Wall-E item at Disney. Those stores are no longer there. Hell, the Warwick Gamecrazy had just got in a black DS Lite I requested and had it on hold for me. That also shit the bed. Oh well. There's so many versions of the DS now, I'm glad it got lost to the waters. Would've had buyers remorse after seeing the 3D and 3D xl.

Use flashlights if you have them. Candles could burn your house down.

Also, keep the food in your fridge and freezer so they don't lose cooling. Don't even open them once or think about transferring them to some cooler with crushed ice. Munch on yummy snacks instead if you get hungry.

IF you have a Cooler, Fill that mother with as much Ice as you can and pack any "Necessary" food you'll end up eating soon in that cooler. Keep everything else sealed in the Refrigerator/Freezer.
    Woah, wind's picking up here.

Lots of Rain here in South Central PA. Some power outages, but they seem to be getting back online pretty quick. I'm afraid to see how flooded my basement is, though.

Surprising haven't lost power in NE Pa (yet)...decided to do a once around the house before going to bed...just to check for any damage...and lo and behold there's a huge chunk of siding and plywood missing from the side of my house...:banghead:

...have to give my wife kudos for standing out in the wind & rain with a flashlight while I tried to cover the damage with tarps.:thumb

...well, come tomorrow morning we'll see just how reliable Allstate is...

Everyone who is being affected by this storm...STAY SAFE...it's not over yet.

Cleveland branch, reporting in. All's fine this far out, just some wind, rain, and our local media and assorted officials hyperventilating over nothing.

Seriously, we get weeks of sub-zero weather, blizzards so bad we name them (yes, we're naming blizzards now, it seems), months of immoveable several-foot-deep snow, all without major incident; yet because it's been raining since mid-morning, we're closing all the schools tomorrow. I kid you not.

Hope everyone's families stay safe, and that the damage to your places is minimal.

A friend of mine mistook a Screengrab from "The Day After Tomorrow" for actual Hurricane Sandy footage.
You know, the shot where the massive waves overtake Lady Liberty as the now fifty-feet deeper Atlantic Ocean pushes inland.

Everyone ok? The clips on TV look terrible. Did most of the population evac to another state?

My section of Toronto was fine, just a lot of wind overnight.

Lots of a leaves and pines all over the street...and a mattress.

Heard it was worse in other parts of my city.

Safe on this end, I just have to see what happened to my house. Haven't been there yet.
