The shoulder cannon and the gun, I'm not too much concern of its storage since in can be held in robot mode or plug on top of the car in vehicle mode. However, I'm more interest whether the 2 black pile drivers can be store some where within him without having to put it away in my accessory bin. The opening of the head is interesting, not sure what it is, for now I'm just going to say it's part of his transformation processing. I'll be shock if the pile drivers go there, lol.
I think a black wash on the shoulder cannon would help alot. It'd bring out all that detail. May look better in person under normal lighting though. Looking forward to seeing a video of the transformation.
There were listings up for Sideswipe on Amazon yesterday but they are gone now. All of the sellers were Japanese. Availability should be any day now, you would think . . .
interesting that the face is more based on the G1 toy than on the cartoon character. That's a first for the (so-called) Masterpiece line. Overall, underwhelmed with the figure. From the rear vehicle robot kibble, to the plastic wheels and oversized Autobot symbol. For $30-40, sure, but it's much harder to get excited about $90 with shipping.
I got both Lambor and Alert on pre-order, but seeing the pics gets me more and more uninterested in this mold. The chest is too wide, the feet look weird. He lost his 'car door on forearms' trademark (only half of the door is there now), the face looks stupid. Alert looks a bit better and more interesting. I just hope they look better in person.
Anyone know where they still have stock of this guy apart from captured prey and big bad toy store? I usually buy from Robot Kingdom but they are sold out, which is unusual because in the past they have never sold out when the item has only been up for preorder. Lots of mofo's must have jumped on board with this line because of all the hype. Hopefully they have excess after they fill all there preorders.
I don't know why, but I'm getting really excited for this guy. I mean, he's the first MP, that's not in a leader size class , not to mention a main character by any means. Im just really happy that were finally getting some new molds an a new feel for this ( in scale ) line.
I think this guy is going to be very nice in hand. That alt mode is soooo nice. Like someone previously stated, Alternity Bee and Cliffjumper looked horrible in promo shots but the chests are fine in person so I think Swipe will be in the same boat. I'm just hoping that the red finish is nice and glossy.
I'm very excited for this piece. I hope the continue this idea and end up making a masterpiece Mirage.
RobotKingdom has more preorders for MP12 available, just ordered mine! Only a week away from release date! Can't wait to have my first masterpiece car, hopefully more cars to come!
Yea they have, It's up to $79 now and it was $69 about 2 weeks ago. I think it started off around $64. I just ordered the normal release as I tend to play with the accessories once and then they stay in the box. Normal release is $69 now and was $62 two weeks ago, I almost ordered it then! I just don't like ordering from them too early because you have to pay up front. I think the normal release started off at $58.
Nice photos! I finally bit the bullet on MP-12 Amazon Japan Exclusive yesterday (along with a bunch of other items) from Robot Kingdom. It seems they raised the price on both versions recently, the one I bought wnet from about $69 to $79 US. I suppose they are filling their preorder for those. Can hardly wait! ^^
